Disclaimer: I don't own The Avengers. I make no profit from this. The Avengers created by Stan Lee.

Author's Note: Originally, I wrote a pretty depressing version of this, in which Loki is a jerk and Thor's all angsty, but then they hug it out, and go Winchester-Bros-y on everyone.

Then I created a document on here, without uploading the original document, so I said, "screw it." And, here we are. A semi-serious analysis of the relationship between two brothers told almost entirely with dialogue.

"Where did you learn of this 'go fish', Thor? It's quite interesting."

"Darcy showed it to me."

"Ah, Jane's friend. She seems to show you a lot of these wonderful human things."

"Well, Darcy likes me to be able to entertain myself with something other than 'kicking the ass and taking names' when I come to Midgard."

"I see."

Loki, from inside of his cell, chuckled. Thor smiled, and drew a card.

"She told me about a game you might enjoy when you are bored. It's called 'solitaire.'"

"I assume this is a game one plays by oneself."

"It is."

Loki asked if Thor had any eights. He didn't. Loki drew a card.

"How does one play solitaire?"

Thor told him.

"Hm. Seems simple enough."

"It's not. Trust me, I've yet to win it myself."

Loki considered that for a moment.

"So, how is your 'avenging' team these days?"

"Quite well. The archer, Barton, has a family, apparently."

"Oh, he's settled down since our encounter?"

"No, that's what's strange about it. He's had this family for years."

"Years? He's never mentioned them. Not even when I was about to do very bad things to his precious planet."

"He didn't. They were secret until recently."

"How recently?"

"'Stark-has-created-a-monster-that-wants-to-take-over-Midgard-so-we-had-to-take-refuge-at-Barton's-family's-farm-recently."

"They have a farm?"

Thor nodded.

"Well, then. That's rather...domestic."

Thor hummed in agreement.

"Speaking of domesticity..."

"Loki."

"I was merely going to ask if you had begun leaving a toothbrush at Ms. Foster's apartment?"

"Loki, that is not a polite question."

"Isn't this what Midgardians do to their family members? Pester them about their personal affairs?"

"Yes, but we are not Midgardians."

"True. We're not brothers either, but that doesn't seem to stop you from checking on me."

"Have I outstayed my welcome, Loki?"

"No, I'm just ruining whatever positivity might happen to exist around me, as usual."

They were silent after that.

"I think I should be going now. I promised Darcy I would watch the television with her. Her favorite play is on tonight."

"All right. I suppose I'll start playing this solitaire."

"Assuming you don't kill yourself out of frustration, you should be kept busy until I come back."

"Be seeing you, brother."

Author's Note: So...That was maybe not awful, right?
