Pack Dementia
"Hmm hmm hmm hmm, I'm lost and im found, im on the hunt I'm after you! Straddle the line, discord and rhyme, and im hungry like the wolf…" Quill strolled along, newly purchased iPod in his ears, listening to the songs that everyone was destined to get stuck in their head. Not, of course, that he realized how literal that would soon be. You see, Quill was kind of new to the whole werewolf thing. Sometimes, when out of his wolf-skin, he would forget about little details…
Like the pack mind, for instance….
"Dah dah dah, lah lah lah lah, I'm on the hunt I'm after you…" Quill shook his head. They were all, per Sam's orders, doing a usual border check He could hear Jacob and Embry snarl in annoyance as the song rolled through their combined pack mind.
Quill, could you please do something about that stupid song?! Jacob thought so loud he might have been screaming. The music sort of faded, but it was still playing in the background until it was like the music in a department store, there but not overwhelmingly so. Everyone's annoyance levels dropped ever so slightly, until suddenly the music got louder, only this time coming from Jacob.
Great. Now it's stuck in my head. Way to go, fur brain. Jacob growled. He stopped running and shook himself a couple of times, but the song was still there.
Aaggh! That's it, no more music for Quill. Embry groaned as the song got stuck in his head, too. They felt Sam's presence fade into the group mind, calm and strong like always. Until he caught the virus….
Okay. Who started this? He thought as he phased into his wolf-skin. There was hardly any room left for thinking as the one or two lines of the song popped into their mind every few seconds.
Screw this. Sam, im phasing out before I go insane. Jacob said. Sam agreed with the idea, and everyone went back into their own minds. Not that it helped much. For the rest of the day the pack could be seen slamming their heads against walls and glaring at Quill as the song kept circulating. Finally it seemed to have disappeared. When they phased the next morning the song was notably gone.
And then Leah showed up.
A/n: i might add more to this one... and then again i might not. really it depends on you guys. if you want more, just ask! and come on, that was just too good to pass up...
