Her Eyes

Hey Guys! If you are waiting for Chapter 3 of Evelyn it's coming. So don't freak. I wrote this for Language Arts back in January but I never posted this. I figured I should. It's one of my greatest stories ever. Hope you enjoy! It was had been nine years since Fabian Rutter had seen the love of his life, Nina Martin. There hadn't been a day where he didn't think about her.t as hard not to think about her. She was a famous pop star now and there were advertisements for her tour everywhere. Fabian was standing in his room at Anubis House (where they lived at their boarding school) looking at himself in the mirror. He sighed. He didn't know what to do. He was depressed and didn't think about anything else but Nina. He went into the kitchen for some breakfast. His cat Onyx was staring at him. He opened the cabinet to get a plate but decided against it and closed the cabinet. He went over to the kitchen counter and picked up a sketch book. Fabian was an artist. He was an artist who went mute. Ever since Nina left without explanation, he hadn't been able to say a word. That is why he draws. So he can get his feelings on paper. All of the pictures he drew were of Nina's face. They were all pencil drawn but he colored her eyes in emerald green. That Fabian's favorite thing about Nina. Her eyes. They just looked so happy and welcoming. He loved her and everyone knew it. They all left him alone though because that is all he wanted, to be left alone.

He sat down with a cold piece of pizza from the night before and turned on the television. He flipped through the channels until he came upon the news. It was breaking news witch definitely caught Fabian's attention from the picture he was drawing. "Pop star Nina Martin died last night in her sleep" the news woman said. "The funeral will be held at Anubis house tomorrow at noon." Then the news break ended and the channel he was on had gone back to its regularly scheduled programming.

He went up to the bathroom and took a long hot shower. After he got changed into his pajamas he looked at the steam he had left on the mirror. He took his finger and drew a line on the mirror. Then another and another until he had drawn a picture of Nina. It was perfect. The only problem with the portrait was that the eyes were blank. There was no tint of emerald green. So it wasn't really Nina. Fabian decided to go to the funeral against previous choices. He went into his room and looked for an outfit to wear to the funeral. It was jeans, a purple and grey striped shirt, and a tan leather jacket. It was Nina's favorite outfit.

That night Fabian went to the park. It was snowing outside and the piles of snow were just getting bigger. He didn't care though. He kept walking. All he had was a sketchbook and a pencil. He was wearing Nina's favorite outfit. He sat down on a bench facing a dead tree. He opened his sketch pad and began to draw. It was a picture of Nina as you probably guessed already. It wasn't a portrait though. Nina was at the top of the stairs at Anubis house. She was the chosen one. She was smiling down at Fabian in her floral print dress. Fabian was wearing Nina's favorite outfit in the picture. His was smiling even bigger right back up at her. Then he signed it and wrote "To my Chosen One."

The next day at the funeral the priest was talking about all the ways that Nina had been a great person. Then he asked if anyone wanted to place things such as flowers on her headstone. Fabian bent down and placed the drawing on her headstone. Then he said the first words he had said in 9 years. "Goodbye Chosen One" he said. Then he left.

So? Did you love it? I will probably have Chapter 3 up tomorrow and it's getting juicy. Trust me.
