"Do we have to do this?" Danny asks. He was so nervous suddenly he thought he was probably shaking. It wasn't everyday you met your future in-laws, especially when your fiancée is already caring your child. He put on his best 'meet the folks' clothes and everything.
Caressing his face, Lindsay guides his face down to meet hers, kissing him softly. "They'll love just as much as I do. Just turn on that city boy charm." She smiles.
Turning her body to the door, she picks up her hand knock on the door. A few seconds later the door opens, an older lady squeals with delight. "Oh, my baby!" Lindsay mother squeals.
"Hey momma, I missed you," Lindsay hugs her mother as close to her as possible at 6 months pregnant.
"Oh my Lord, look at you," her mother pulls there arms out wide, noticing the obvious.
"Surprise," Lindsay exclaims softly.
"Victoria, what is all the racket for?" Lindsay's father Harold asks coming around the corner to the front door. "Lindsay?"
"Hey daddy," she moves past her mother to walk into her father's open arms.
"And who is this handsome devil?" Victoria asks finally noticing Danny.
Danny stands there frozen as Lindsay's mom walks up to him and gives him a big ol' hug.
Breaking away from her father, she walks to Danny, takes his hand and leads him into the house. She makes her way to the kitchen she grew up in and takes a much needed seat at the table. Her parents join them around the table.
"This is Danny," she says, holding his hand for dear life. "We are getting married and we're having a baby, obviously."
Victoria begins to squeal again. Harold sits there contemplating the information.
"Mr. Monroe, I love your daughter, sir," Danny suddenly started to speak.
Harold adjusted his glare, still not responding.
Danny started to panic, having her parents' approval meant the world to Lindsay and he had to figure out how to get it.
"Am I good enough for your daughter? No. Why should she marry me? Because I would lay my life down for her. I have made a lot of mistakes and haven't always been a good person, but Lindsay has made me a better person. I know all this sounds like something a desperate man would say, but I promise I will never break your daughters heart," Danny took a deep breath, wondering where that came from.
Harold studied Danny for another second, "Welcome to the family, son." He extended his hand firmly shaking it.
"Welcome to the family, Daniel." Victoria said, grinning. "Now that all this serious stuff is over can we talk about why I don't know I have a grand child on the way?"
