Michael was sitting at his desk, interviewing possible employees for his new business.
"I'm sorry, you're just not right for the job."
This had been going on ever since he started opening jobs. He was careful with his choices, a little too careful.
As soon as the man Michael was interviewing got up from his seat and left, another had walked in. He looked pretty suspicious, but Michael was desperate and needed workers.
The man wore a white hoodie, with the hood over his head, jeans, and sneakers.
"Hi there, I'm assuming you're here for the job?" said Michael.
"Hehe…yeah. I saw the 'help wanted' sign on the window outside."
The man sat down in front of Michael and patiently waited for him.
Michael then said, "All right, well before we start, would you like some coffee?"
"No need, I can hold on my own," said the man.
"…oohhkay then. Well, let's begin!"
This man, Michael thought, he seems so suspicious. He won't even make eye contact with me. I'll have to be cautious before even thinking of hiring him. Then again, haven't I done that all day?
"So, what's your full name?" Michael said.
"Jeffrey Theodore Karter. With a 'k'," the man said, without even looking at Michael.
"Hey, you know, it's a good idea to make eye contact with the employer when you're in an interview. Just a suggestion."
Silence.
"Whatever, let's get on with the interview. So what makes you think you're good for the job?"
Jeffrey said, "Well…hehe, I'm good at getting rid of people. So if you need to fire someone, you can call me up, haha!..."
"Erm, that's all?" said Michael.
"If you were me, that's all you would need to do…"
"…uh, d-do you have a résumé?"
"…" Jeffrey was quiet.
Michael then spoke up, "Well, uh, since you don't have enough background information, I'm sorry, but, you're ju…"
Just then, Michael stopped talking mid-sentence. In fact…Michael stopped breathing…
At that moment, Jeffrey stood up and walked towards Michael's corpse. He then retrieved something from Michael's…face…
A knife.
"Hehehe…," said Jeffrey. "Go to sleep."
