Yes, this is a songfic. I got this idea while listening to my Evanescence
CD this morning and the song kinda reminded me about Naruto and how
everyone treated him. Anyways, this is before he graduated from the
Academy. Enjoy~
**Playground school bell rings again**
The bell rang, signifying the end of class. Children ran out of the Academy, laughing, chattering as they went to find their parents. Only one kid was alone.
**Rain clouds come to play again**
Seven-year-old Naruto sighed as he trudged slowly to his swing that was isolated from the crowd, ignoring the looks of hate people shot him. He tried not to shudder, but continued swinging his feet, trying to forget the world around him.
**Has no one told you she's not breathing?**
**Hello, I am your mind giving you someone to talk to**
**Hello**
No one wanted to talk to him. No one wanted to play with him. No one wanted him. He was alone.
"Hey!! Why are you all by yourself?"
**If I smile and don't believe**
Naruto looked up in surprise. There was a boy about his age standing in front of him, looking curiously at the blond.
"No one wants me." He replied.
"Why?? I don't see what's so different about you from the others." The boy tilted his head as he looked at Naruto. "Do you want a cookie?"
"Hm?" the blond blinked, before grinning widely. "Sure!!"
** Soon I know I will wake from this dream**
"Miya-chan!! What are you doing with that boy?!?!" the boy's mother walked over, grabbing her son by the wrist. "You stay away from this boy, you hear?"
"But 'kaa-chan!!" the boy protested.
"No, be quiet. You are never to come near this boy again." The mother turned to Naruto with cold eyes. "And you better stay away from him. I don't need a curse tainting my son!! Come on, we're leaving!" and she dragged the boy away.
**Don't try to fix me I'm not broken**
Naruto stared as he watched the only person besides Iruka-sensei that was actually kind to him get dragged away. He sighed, tears welling up in his bright blue eyes, knowing he will never see that boy again. But the boy was right. What was wrong with him that made the villagers hate him so?
**Hello, I am the lie living for you so you can't hide**
**Don't cry**
Why was it that everyone hated him so? And that mother, she called him a curse. There was something about him that the villagers hated, but what?
Loneliness. He despised that word. It was affecting him brutally. In this place he called home, he felt like an outcast, an exile. The crowd turned their backs on him. They always jeered at him to go away and called him names like monster or demon that he didn't understand why.
It was painful, having to live with this everyday, putting on a cheerful exterior to hide his inner emotions. People called him loud, but he only wanted attention.
The seven-year-old sighed as he slid off his swing and walked toward his apartment. It was a cheerful afternoon. Townsfolk were going on with their daily basis and children were playing, glad that school was over. The sun as out, the birds were chirping enthusiastically. And he was alone.
**Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping**
**Hello I'm still here**
**All that's left of yesterday...**
Hn...that' didn't go quite the way I expected. It's a bit short, I know, but review and tell me what you think!!! Flames are welcome too!!
