I din't even know where I've been. Sorry. So this is just a one-shot of ten. it says ten. but it could be for 11? Idk. I also dk when it takes place. Maybe before Journey's end or maybe after. really. it's all up to you. I wrote this late at night while I was hungry, so it's not the best. But whatever.
It's different that things I have written before. enjoy xx
Life can be weird. It can be hectic. It can be despairing. It knocks you down. After all, it kills you.
But what if it didn't? What if you were forced to live on? See the destruction of your home? Your family? Everything you have ever known? Everyone you have ever loved?
She was human. They were always human. So small. So vulnerable.
The Doctor had met many people who had changed the world. Some being famous world leaders. Some being normal, average, people. Like a girl. A normal exceptional girl. Who he would have promised the world to if he had the chance. She was different than anyone he had met. She opened his eyes and held his hand long the way.
Oh his pink and yellow human. How he yearned for her.
Her name was Rose. Rose Tyler. She was alive. She had to be alive. For his sake.
"It's not fair." The time traveler yelled to no one. He was alone. "There's me." A small voice said in the back of his head. He could picture it. Years ago. Stranding in the middle of a busy street. Side by side. He told her about his past, and she replied with those two words. Those were the only words he needed to hear.
The tenth Doctor balled his hands into fist. She had left him. Rose had been gone for a while. He wondered what she was doing right now. Earth time it was around noon, and he imagined her at work. Sitting behind a desk, counting the hours until she got to leave. Or maybe she was working for Torchwood. Protecting the humans from monsters. "Rose Tyler, defender of Earth."
He wondered if she thought about him. If she still loved him. She had to, right?
Life wasn't a straight line. You could be alive before you were born, after you died. The Doctor could be anywhere at any time. Except with Rose of course.
But maybe one day, they would meet again. He would be able to tell her how much she really meant to him. She could come back. It was a dream, of course. It was almost impossible. But he had done impossible things before.
So there was a chance she could be found. Just a sliver. But he would take it. He would hold on to that possibility. She would come back. He believed it. He believed in her.
She was strong. Hard working. Rose was not the type of person to just give up.
And he wouldn't give up either. He would wait for her. That one day when she opens the TARDIS doors like she was never gone. And he would smile at her before running to her. And would smile and she would run to. They would meet in the middle. And be reunited once more.
The thought made the doctor happy. It gave him hope.
Life can be hopeful.
