Chapter 1 Look Down.

It was pouring rain and hundreds of Digimon prisoners were pulling on ropes to bring in a large ship. They were grunting with the effort. One of the prisoners, a Gabumon started singing. 'Look down, look down. Don't look 'em in the eye.' Then all the other prisoners joined in 'Look down, look down. You're here until you die.'

The Agumon who had been watching the prisoners with steely eyes began to sing himself. 'Now prisoner 24601, your time is up and your parole's begun. You know what that means.' The Gabumon walked up to the Agumon and sang 'Yes, it means I'm free.' 'No.' Sang the Agumon. 'Follow to the letter your itinerary. This badge of shame you'll show until you die. It warns you a dangerous mon.'

'I stole a loaf of bread.' Sang the Gabumon outraged. 'My sister's child was close to death, and we were starving.' The Agumon looked at him in contempt and sang 'You will starve again. Unless you learn the meaning of the law.' The Gabumon continued 'I know the meaning of those 19 years. A slave of the law.'

'5 years for what you did, the rest because you tried to run. Yes 24601.' Sang the Agumon. Then the Gabumon sang 'My name is Jean Valjean.' 'And I'm Javert!' sang the Agumon. 'Do not forget my name! Do not forget me 24601.'

Then all the prisoners sang 'Look down, look down. You'll always be a slave. Look down, look down. You're standing in your grave.'
