Hello Persona fans!

I recently beat Persona 4 (Yes, I know I'm horribly late), playing it for a second time, and I must say that… I adore Adachi. But I digress; concerning the story, I had also watched BBC's Sherlock, a modern adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes.

Both are amazing – and both pushed my brain to write this idea of mine. It will be multi chapter and hopefully finished sometime!

Nothing

Boring.

A young man of twenty-seven, dark hair with eyes to match shuffled around in the small, dimly lit apartment. Most people would imagine that he'd be out in search for something fun, something to assist him in clinging to their twenties. But he'd quickly learned a lot about his new location that he'd been transferred to. In Inaba, there was no young desperation – there was no place for it to exist in the place! One market district with a northern and southern street, a gas station, an inn, a convenience store, a fishing pier, a school, and a residence area… That was all there was to quiet, little Inaba.

As opposed to the city, it was just a speck. As opposed to all of Japan, it was practically nonexistent; you'd wonder how they ever financed themselves without many people knowing about them other than that bare minimum that lived in the place. Tourists were rare, and the residents could only say that they were proud of two things: The Amagi inn and their "specialty food", grilled steak. There was nothing interesting about an inn and a steak and with everything else supposedly below those in comparison… well, the town was pointless.

Boring and pointless.

After he'd arrived at home from light shopping and the gas station, he made his dinner that he'd earned from the thin remnants of his wallet. The remains of a poorly made soup rested on the tiny table in front of him, its contents barely filling his stomach with cheap vegetables and canned broth. God, he needed more money. What sort of policeman only ate cabbage soup and pretty much nothing but? He couldn't afford anything else but something so bland.

Boring, pointless, and bland.

You'd think a policeman would earn more of a living, but not in Inaba. In Inaba, where crime always sleeps. The only ones that crawled from the recesses of "crime" were silly pickpockets or missing pets, and half the time, people would just go to that shrine falling apart to put in emas to solve their problems. Small wishes, sure, they could hold onto those hopes by framing it up but wishing "I hope that thief brings back my belongings" is ridiculous.

Tomorrow would be his third day in Inaba and the first day of meeting his partner in the detective force.

Tohru Adachi was left to sit in his dingy apartment, plopped in front of the television with the sickly glow of the channel shining onto his face. At least he could watch the news and pretend that he wasn't in Inaba.

Pretend that nothing happened to him.
