They walked hand in hand in silence around the perimeter of the lake. She was leaving in the morning bright and early for LA and this was their last night together. They decided they loved each other too much to break up again and would give a long distance relationship a shot.
Sam's somber thoughts were broken when he heard Mercedes sniffle besides him. He looked up to see her in tears, he quickly pulled her to him in a warm embrace. "What's wrong darling" he whispered in his ear. "I'm leaving-I will miss you so much" she cried sobbing into his chest. Sam grabbed either side of taking in her tears and pout. "baby look at me" he said gently tilting her chin to face him. " I pride myself on being able to make you smile now, now smile for your daddy" he said wagging his eyebrow. Mercedes giggled despite her tears "Really Sam? Smile for me "daddy", let me see your grille? Sam released her hand to reach into his pocket for a gum wrapper and pushes it against his teeth grinning widely at his girlfriend causing her to laugh hysterically. "You Are Crazy" she said doubling over in laughter. "Only about you sweetheart" he said grinning the gum wrapper still against his teeth.
He grabbed her hand and lead her to the edge of the lake where his guitar sit against a tree trunk. "I have a surprise for you" he sad finally removing the gum wrapper between his teeth. He let go of her hand and took hold of his guitar and began to strum saying " for what it's worth, I'll miss you too, so much but i know you are so much bigger then this town, so this my darling is my wish for you"
He starts to sing:
