Don't You Like the Puppy?
I do not own Law & Order: CI, I just like writing about it.
If there was one thing Alex Eames could not stand, it was the smell of cheese. Strong cheeses, foreign cheeses, it was overpowering. She was sure that Bobby knew this, but she never bothered to tell him how disgusting she really found it. He sometimes joked about her, listing off all of these strange Italian cheeses and describing (in detail) their smell. It really drove her mad.
Once, Bobby must have been incredibly bored, because he bought her a full slice of this really strong white cheese that you could smell from a few feet away. He gift-wrapped it and wrote a card and everything. Of course, he was more mature now. Thank God. So he gave her the cheese one day when they were both stuck doing desk work. Alex had ended up gagging and running off to the bathroom. Bobby had apologized, but she still remembered that.
So, that's why she was presenting Bobby with a little gift. Luckily, she had managed to find out that Bobby hated the wet-dog smell. He hid it perfectly, but she could tell by the way he winced when he dealt with a wet dog. So, being Eames, one day she invited Bobby over for coffee. Grinning mischievously, she borrowed her neighbor's puppy under the pretense she wanted to "show" her partner. So she sprayed it down with some warm water. Wrapping a towel around it, she ran off to where her partner was waiting.
Bobby raised his eyebrows when he saw her skipping toward him with a puppy in her arms. But then he saw the towel. Oh Jesus Christ, it's wet! thought Bobby. "Eames!" he said incredulously. Laughing, Alex pulled a sad and innocent face.
"Aw, what's da matter? Bobby no like puppy?" she said in her best baby voice. Bobby scowled.
"You know I hate that smell…" he said, annoyed. "Wait. This is because of the cheese, isn't it?" he added, sighing in realization. Alex stuck out her lower lip.
"What cheese?"
"You know…"
"Oh! You mean the one that made me vomit!"
"Eames, I'm sorry!"
"Aw, hold the puppy and it will make it all better!" she said, with her cutest ear-to-ear grin. Bobby groaned.
Why did he ever insist on poking fun at Alex Eames?
