Title: "William" Revisited
Author: LissaMarie (MelMarie612@aol.com)

Rating: G
Disclaimer: The X-Files belong to CC and 1013. I'm just borrowing Mulder and Scully as well as some other characters (maybe) for a short period of time. This is strictly recreational, and I'm making no money from it.
Category: AU, V, A, episode-fic (William)
Spoilers: William (disregard the teaser and last few minutes with the "country couple")
Archive: Just let me know first. I promise to say yes.
Feedback: I love to receive it, but I don't expect it. Good, bad, and ugly all help me out. You can let me know at MelMarie612@aol.com.
Summery: Scully tries to do what she sees as the right thing for Baby William, but she finds herself unable to do so. Just a short fic to undo the events of "William"
Author's Note: I couldn't let the show end that way. I'm sure I'm one of many who were heartbroken by the turn of events in that episode.

"There are many families out there who would love to take in your son as their own," the adoption officer continued. The woman had agreed to meet with Scully within hours of her phone call. "Good families that have gone through our screening. They're unable to have children of their own at no fault of their own."
"I know what that is like," Scully mumbled to herself. She really did. After years of believing she would never have a child of her own, she finally had. She had been able to look into her son's eyes, hold him, nurse him, watch Mulder with him...
She had been trying to convince herself that Mulder would understand her reasoning. He would want William to have a good life. He would want their little boy to have the happy life she wasn't sure she could completely provide him. He would forgive her for giving away his son.
"I'm sorry," Scully interrupted the woman suddenly. The woman stopped talking and stared at her as if she was daring her to speak. Scully had already made up her mind with a single thought and only half-realized how rude the woman was being. "I can't do this."
Scully grabbed her coat and left to go home to her son, just as she'd continue to do for years to come. William was hers and Mulder's, and he would always be that way.
