Here's a little One-Shot about Kai and Max. Hope you like it!
Max's P.O.V.
I watched him as he leaned against the side of the dojo with his eyes closed and his arms crossed over his chest. I stared silently for a while, wondering what he was always thinking about. He never really seemed to pay attention to anything around him, yet he was always aware of his surroundings. Unlike me. I was always the clumsy, hyper one of the group.
I was about to turn my head away from him, but froze when his eyes suddenly shot open, catching me by surprise. For a moment, we just stared at each other and everything seemed as if it were happening in slow motion.
"U- umm. Hi, Kai…." His amethyst eyes stayed locked with mine as I tried to find the right words to speak.
"Hn." He closed his eyes and seemed to lose all acknowledgement of the world. My eyes scanned over his body, he seemed tense, but as the same time relaxed. Almost as if he was forcing himself to stay calm.
"That's weird…." My hand slapped over my mouth when I accidentally mouthed my thoughts. I stayed frozen for a while as he stayed silent with his eyes closed. I sighed and removed my hand away from my mouth, convincing myself that he hadn't heard me earlier. I stood up from my spot on the ground, but froze when I heard a little mumble. It was so low that I almost hadn't heard it and continued to walk. Key word: Almost.
I turned my head upward towards Kai slowly and my eyes met with his.
"What?" I tried to sound confident, but it didn't help that my voice cracked.
"What's weird, Max?" I gulped loudly and chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of my neck.
"Nothing, it was just something that I remembered and it seemed sort of off to me." Once again, my voice cracked. He pushed himself off the wall and walked forward, making me feel like he was closing in on me.
"Then why were you staring at me?" my eyes widened and I gulped again, feeling more nervous than the time Tyson had gotten sick from eating candy with me. I backed up a little and laughed nervously again.
"Was I? I didn't even notice." I pushed myself to control my breathing and heart rate, as they both sped up. I was looking around by now, trying to see if I could make a run for it. Probably not. The pond behind me was blocking me in as Kai advanced closer to me, a slight smirk on his face? I was so confused as I watched his lips curl up into a smirk, making me freeze in place. "Kai, what are you doing?"
"Trying to find out why you look so nervous right now…." I gulped once again as Kai pulled me forward. "So tell me, Max, why do I make you so nervous?" I thought for a moment, really trying to answer that question in my head. When it hit me-
"I like you…." Kai smiled softly before leaning in.
"I'm glad it's not because you're afraid of me.' With that, he placed his lips on mine and pulled away. And just like the wind, he was gone, leaving my lips a flame and the sound of the door of the dojo closing.
I know this is corny, but I just had to do this, I was dying to make a Kai and Max Fic for a while now but I wasn't really sure how to make it good. I'm not really used to writing these kind of Fics with Max and Kai, but I have read many and found them all interesting. Forgive me if this is bad, but please R&R!
