Okay, everyone. This is a little oneshot idea that came into my head because it's April Fools Day and I happened to be drawing Kakashi when I realized it. So no hating, please? Reviews are appreciated. : D

Hatake Kakashi wasn't one much for punctuality. Glancing at the glaring red numbers on his digital clock, he groaned, realizing he should probably get up. After all, his students had already been waiting for an hour. He threw the bedsheets off his body and brushed his teeth, looking at the clock again. He got dressed in his normal attire and went down the hall to the kitchen, prepared to make breakfast.
Bacon and eggs sizzled on the pan a while later as Kakashi stood near the stove, reading the latest volume in the Icha Icha series. The frying pan sizzled louder, a sign indicating that his breakfast was done cooking. He glanced at the clock again - it'd been two hours now he'd kept his students waiting. They'd probably be ready to chew him out by the time he got there, he mused with a laugh. He ate his breakfast in his usual solitude and proceeded to go out of the door of his house.
Immediately, he regretted getting up. The sunlight was too bright today, and they didn't even have a mission - his students had only told him that it was "a surprise." Kakashi groaned, wondering what lay in store for him at Training Ground #7, their usual meeting place.
As he stepped onto the empty clearing about twenty minutes later, Kakashi heard a siren go off. He dodged quickly as several kunai shot out of nowhere at him. Heart racing, he realized that his students must have been captured by this mysterious enemy. His eyes narrowed, instincts kicking in, as he pulled his forehead protector up to reveal his sharingan. Surprised, he found no chakra presence in the immediate vicinity, but he kept his guard up - there were ways to fool the sharingan.
He dodged a trap that suddenly swung from a tree, and landed nimbly on a branch. Kakashi swore as the branch fell out, and he landed again on the ground. Then he had to do a backflip to avoid the shuriken that thunked into the tree directly behind where his face had been a second ago.
Exhausted from the unexpected work out, he was thoroughly confused to hear applause coming from the opposite side of Training Ground #7. His three young genin pupils walked out into the clearing, still clapping. They all had the same smile, and the same knowing expression twinkling behind their eyes. Kakashi was even more confused as Sakura handed him a small note, smiling brightly.
Kakashi didn't know whether to laugh or to groan in frustration. Note falling forgotten to the ground, he chased his three little pupils with a smile that none of them could see, engaging them all in a battle that he would probably win. Naruto yelled; Sakura laughed; and Sasuke let a knowing smirk cross his face, and they all fought to train.
There on the ground that night at sunset, an unsuspecting kunoichi picked up a little card that had fallen on the ground in Training Ground #7. It looked slightly worn, and she pocketed it, slightly confused at the words.
The note read, April Fools, Kakashi-sensei.
