A/N because its April fools day ;-)
Just to see your face
"Niwa," the bluenette whispered his name so lightly it made Daisuke feel uncomfortable and awkward. They were both standing in the freezer again, their breath fogging between them.
Somehow he knew that the door was locked and they were trapped inside.
In a far corner of his mind it confused him how this had happened again, but he only dimly registered it.
Satoshi was standing some distance away, looking cold and beautiful. Daisuke's artist eyes couldn't help running over the prince of ice, blue hair, glacial eyes, breath freezing in the air. His arms made no attempt to warm himself but hung casually at his sides, except when he lifted one to push his glasses further up his nose. His very posture and air were regal and blended perfectly with the subzero surroundings.
Daisuke's fingers itched for a paintbrush.
"It's rather cold in here don't you think?" Satoshi asked smoothly, throwing Daisuke a look which whispered more than his words.
"Hmmm," the young thief began to see just how cold. Tiny frosted ice particles hung off Satoshi's eyelashes, glittering.
"It's getting colder every second," he added with undertones, looking at Niwa in such a significant way it made Daisuke shiver and shake off the artist's trance he was in. He walked towards his class mate slowly, acknowledging somewhere in his mind that he should be feeling as cold as Satoshi, but the thought was fleeting and gone as soon as it came.
"Well sharing body heat worked before…" he suggested with a friendly smile. "We could try that again."
Satoshi's eyes flashed and a cunning smile flitted over his face.
"That's just what I was hoping you'd say," he quietly uttered and before Daisuke could blink had him pulled into his arms.
"H – h – Hiwatari?"
The thief blushed crimson against Satoshi's chest and stood stock still, feeling very uncomfortable. "What are you doing?"
"Sharing body heat," he replied matter-of-factly but with a teasing undertone. "Don't you like it?" he purred in Daisuke's ear.
"Erm – I – um – erm…" the thief floundered.
"So adorable," Satoshi chuckled and moved his mouth over Daisuke's.
"Argh!" Daisuke yelled and sat up in bed. "What the…? What was that?" His mind flashed to the dream kiss. "Argh," he yelled again and ruffled his hair with both hands. "That did not just happen," he whined.
As he woke up more he became aware of Dark's presence tickling at his mind and Dark was…laughing!
"Oooh! That was fantastic Daisuke," he cried when he had the breath and between howls of laughter. "That was precious. Your face!" He spluttered and started laughing again. "We have got to do that again."
"We? Dark were you responsible for that?"
The angel just laughed some more.
"Oh! It was just too easy to manipulate your memories while you slept and plant ideas. Too good an opportunity to miss. I was so bored but that'll keep me going for days."
The worst part of it was, Daisuke thought, was that he couldn't get that image of the painting of Satoshi out of his head.
Daisuke groaned and lay back down, pulling his pillow over his head.
"You are such a jerk Dark!"
The phantom thief merely chuckled smugly to himself.
"Yeah," he grinned, "I know. It's just a shame I couldn't see Hikari's face as well."
"What?!" Daisuke bolted up.
---------------
Satoshi sat up in bed, letting the sheets slide off his chest as he propped himself up against the pillow and placed his hand over his face. Slowly he ran it back through his dishevelled hair, ruffling it further.
"Well…" he said stoically, "that was different."
