A/N: I wrote this for a song-paired drabble request. Title comes from the song. Enjoy!
"Missing You" by Jem
Snow. It covered everything in false innocence, let the world pretend for a night that it was clean. The snow reminded her of black skies and blacker eyes (only one now) that hid in the north. (Their bodies sliding, twisting, and more, more ,more.)
Nimble fingers brushed a stray blond strand behind a cold-pinked shell of an ear. Mahogany eyes were dry and clear. ("Don't cry for me, promise," a voice like a black forest said to her in the darkness. All she could do was nod and sigh. Lips meeting and parting in the stillness.)
She wished the snow would just bury her, make her disappear under it's false innocence and let her sleep. ("I love you." "Don't. Please." "I love you." A sigh. "I love you, too.") It had been too many years…too many orders she followed in the hopes that one day, he would come back and fill the hole he'd left behind.
"Damn you, Roy Mustang," Riza said to the snow, voice quaking but eyes dry, just like she promised. "I miss you."
