Chapter One – The Argument

Jonny Maconie was not one for lashing out. But something in him had snapped. Sure he and Mo had they're odd arguments here and there. But it was nothing like that. As he made it back to apartment or 'shoe box' as Jac had christened it. He suddenly felt a lot calmer, like the anger he felt an hour ago seemed to have fizzled out. He took off his jacket and hung it on the hanger and took off his shoes placing his bag on the hanger as well before he entered and headed into the kitchen and over to the fridge, opening the door.

He took out a bottle of beer before closing the fridge and left, sitting himself down. Taking a huge sip from his bottle. Feeling something vibrate.

He took it out of his pocket. One new message. He sid the bar across to unlock the screen.

Mo, 5:45pm

I'm sorry Jonny Mac!

Jonny then placed it down. He wasn't going to reply, he didn't think that he should.

Before taking another gulp of his drink. Rubbing his eyes due to the tiredness from an early shift. It wasn't long before Jonny fell into a deep slumber on the couch.

It was morning when Jonny awoke. It took him a few minutes to pull himself up on the couch before everything that happened the previous day, came back to him the argument with Mo. As he made a quick change of clothes. And decided to skip on breakfast he was about to head into work, when he was stopped in his tracks by Sacha.

'Jonny. You haven't seen Mo have you?' Sacha asked.

'No, I haven't' Jonny told him.

'Its just she hasn't turned up for her shift. Nobody can seem to get hold of her, with you being her best friend. I was hoping you'd know' Sacha told him.

'Well I don't so' Jonny said.

'Have you two had words?' Sacha asked. Noticing the difference in tone of Jonny's voice.

'No, of course not' Jonny said. Sacha didn't have to know.

'Its just I mentioned Mo, and your tone changed all together that's all' Sacha explained.

'If I see her. I'll let you know' Jonny told him before heading inside.

As he waited for the lift. His thoughts of Mo were fading away as he made it onto Darwin. He headed to the locker room to change into his scrubs. To start what would be a very long shift.
