This is a sequel to Sweeter & Sweeter. Harry finally tells Hermione what he saw. I don't own anything. Please read 'SWEETER & SWEETER' before you read this. It will NOT make any sense. I'm serious about this. There are still people that think they missed something. I'm serious people. These stories come and go. You need to look out for them. I make them as I please... The next one will be here like now. Read SWEETER & SWEETER FIRST!

"He loved you."

The look of surprise on Her face was shocking.

Mostly because it wasn't there.

"I know."

Harry blinked curiously. "You… you knew?"

"I've known since fifth year that he felt something for me. Last year I realized it."

"Why didn't… You never said anything."

She gave him an exasperated look. "Of course not, Harry. Why would I do a thing like that? Professor Snape would have gotten in trouble, and you would have gone after him!"

The two sat in silence for a while.

"Would you have ever…? You know, considered…?"

She sighed. "I haven't a clue; probably not. I guess it depends, doesn't it?"

Harry sighed and drew his knees closer to his chest. "I thought for sure…" He really did. Snape was so sure. Shouldn't She be too?

"Yes?"

"Well he just seemed so sure. I just thought… how could it not happen? He was positive that…" He wanted her more than anything. Harry pitied him. He understood. Love lost was nothing gained.

"Go on, Harry."
"He wanted a family. With you. He wanted a family with you. More than anything, he wanted you." He was willing to do anything to get it.

He didn't tell her that.

"I didn't realize," She fumbled, "I didn't think it was that…" She hadn't known that it had been this strong. She thought it was just infatuation, an obsession that Severus couldn't quell. She was wrong.

"Strong? It was."

"And that's why he-"

"Yes. That's why he stood by us. He told me to tell you."

"But-"

"Because he couldn't last a single minute longer without you knowing that he loved you." He would give anything for Hermione. Even if that meant allowing the greasy bastard to get his paws on her. He was comforted with the thought that nobody could ever love her more.

They two sat in a pregnant silence.

"How do I go on, now, Harry?"

"What do you mean?"

"He's dead."

"I know."

"I can't help but think it was my fault."

"He would never blame you, Hermione."
"I know. I could have saved him. I didn't. I didn't. I-… Merlin."

They sat in silence as the castle burned.

"It doesn't have to be this way."

"Yes, it does, Harry."

"It doesn't. You could fix it."

"I can't. Ron needs me."

"No he doesn't. Snape needs you. Fix him."

"I can't."

"You can."

"No."

"You always believed in useless causes. This time, you may win. Fix it."

They stared at each other.

Silent agreement.
