Self-care is not selfish.

Non-stop. That's what described his life right now. A never ending cycle or responsibilities and duties. It's a miracle he hasn't collapsed yet.
Arthur Curry, the Aquaman, has a busy life. Days started bleeding together a while ago, with all structure gone. He was Justice League member, which was a 24/7 responsibility. That alone would have been enough to overwhelm a person.
However, on top of the rest of it, he had somewhat adopted an eleven year old boy. He didn't ask for that… but wouldn't trade him for the world. He had found the boy locked in an airtight capsule, suffocating. Upon release and regaining consciousness, the boy told him he was from the ocean. He didn't know the names of any of the cities, but could breathe underwater, and was pretty obviously an Atlantean. As to how he got in the capsule was anyone's guess, because the boy had selective memory, along with an enormous amount of bruises.
Arthur couldn't leave the boy to where he could be put in a similar situation, so they stayed together. Since then, they found out the boy's name is Garth they had grown closer than ever.
On top of all that, he was the king of a foreign nation. In that, he had even less of a choice, it was just handed to him. The Atlantean People had basically handed him the crown and said, 'Take this if you don't want to start a war. Good luck.' That was peachy.
Now, he worked every waking hour, and even most hours he should have been sleeping. He barely gets to see Garth, and when he does, Garth demands Arthur gets rest before he passes out.
Almost all downtime is spent sleeping, which he feels guilty about, but he can't really help it. In-between the kingly duties of government and politics, and the ever on call justice league, the downtime they do get it few and far between. Sometimes going over 48 waking hours at a time, Arthur is tired, and at times, has passed out from exhaustion.
Garth helps out where he can, filing paperwork, and going on patrol, but Arthur feels terrible his partner feels the need to.
He gets through each day, a little more tired than the last, until finally, he passes out on a Justice League mission.
He was with Flash and Lantern when it happened, and at first, Green Lantern thought it was a joke. Hal tried to kick him awake, but it quickly escalated when they realized he was out cold.
They called Cyborg, who called Wonder Woman, who called Batman.
They brought Arthur to STAR LABS, and quickly started ever drug test they could. It turned out to be a simple case of low blood sugar, which was easily remedied. They confined Arthur to a bed, literally strapping him down, so he could rest undisturbed.
Superman was left out of the loop until Garth called him nearly 20 hours later, wondering if something had happened.
Clark was less than impressed, but took it in stride, realizing making sure his teammate was okay was more important than letting everyone know about the condition. And besides a suspicious, foot shaped bruise, and a vitamin deficiency, Arthur was perfectly fine.
When Arthur was finally released, he had to explain what was going on.
He seemed pretty nervous explaining, but it eventually came out that he was doing everything himself, and hadn't taken a break from this hectic lifestyle in almost two months.
The Justice Leaguers were supportive, and surprised, not realizing exactly how much he had put into everything.
Batman added the Sea Devils to the list of heroes to call with a water based crisis, along with Animal Man, and even Martian Manhunter. In addition, Wonder Woman agreed to help revise speeches, look over contracts. Flash and Superman agreed to keep an eye out for Garth, and Hal simply, quietly, apologized for kicking him.
After that, life was still hectic, but with a support system, it was a little more manageable.
