A/n Get this straight- I do NOT own Degrassi :'(
Just a little something a thought of.
Clare's Birthday was coming up and you would think that everyone would be wishing her a happy birthday, but it was the complete opposite. As she got up, her parents didn't even say good morning to her' they just gave her breakfast and left for work. When she got to school she first saw her best friend Alli. She didn't instantly run up to her and hug her saying happy birthday like she normally does, so Clare thought she would give her a hint.
"Hey Alli! Isn't there something you want to tell me?"
"Umm yeah. Can I borrow your English notes? I couldn't forgot to copy them yesterday."
"Uhh sure. Anything else?" she said while taking them out.
"No. That's it. Thanks. Ohh. Better get to class." Alli said when the bell rang and running off.
"Yeah, no problem."
All day, Clare has been waiting for just one little sign of a happy birthday. All her friends just avoided her like a plague. Even Eli ignored her. They knew it was her birthday, right? 'Maybe they just forgot because of all the tests this week.' she thought, though she couldn't help being unwanted.
After school she caught up with Eli as he was about to climb into Morty. He looked like he was in a rush to leave.
"Hey, wanna go hang at The Dot?" she asked him hoping it can brighten up her day.
"As much as I want to, I can't. I got to and help my parents move some weird furniture around that look like they were from the sixties to my dad's radio station." He said sadly, but something in his voice was off. "What about if I come over tomorrow and we can do whatever you want?" he asked.
"Yeah, sure. No problem." She said trying to hide her sadness.
"Okay, see you tomorrow" Eli said giving her a quick kiss and driving off.
Clare jumped on her bike and pedaled away sadly. 'This has been the worst birthday ever.' She thought. 'I'll just go hide in my room all weekend.'
When she got to her house, she saw that Morty was parked in front of her house. 'Why's Morty here?' she thought curiously.
When she opened the door everything was dark and quiet.
"Mom? Dad? Anyone here?" she turned on the light.
SURPRISE! (Come on you saw that coming)
"Happy sixteenth birthday, sweetie!" She heard her mom say"
Her whole house was fully decorated with balloons and streamers everywhere. Clare looked in a total happy shock that all her friends and family were here, including a smirking Eli that was suddenly behind her.
"You didn't think that I would forget your birthday now did you?" he teasingly asked.
"You planned this?" Clare asked.
"Yup!" Alli spoke up. "He's been planning this for two weeks. He wanted everything to be perfect for you"
"You did?" she asked him.
"Yeah, well I wanted you to have your sweet sixteen even though parties aren't really my thing."
"That's so sweet." Clare said and gave him a kiss on the cheek, not wanting to upset her parents watching her.
Alli spoke up again, "well enough of that, Let's Party!"
Clare said quietly, "Best Birthday Ever."
