As an Everafter, Puck didn't have to deal with death that much. He had spent most of his life surrounded by fairies and people who would never grow old or expire.

So maybe that's why it hurt so much. The recently churned earth soaked up the light rain with an almost human hunger. He could feel the mud sinking into the knees of his jeans, not caring.

He got up and walked and walked, not sure what he should do with himself. How would he survive?

"Sabrina," He muttered, "how could you leave me like this?" He felt something gripping his chest that he once thought he'd never feel again: loneliness.

It was unbelievable, so much time and now everyone had left him alone to his grief.

When she had said that she'd seen it coming, he should have believed her.

He didn't know how long he had been there, only that the funeral had been that morning and that only a few people had come. How could they? Everyone should have come, it should have been the grandest ceremony ever devised.

Death was unfair and cruel.

"Puck." He thought he heard her sigh.

"Leave me be!" He cried, covering his ears.

"Come on, everyone's been looking for you." He turned. It was Daphne.

"Marshmallow?" He bit his lip, fingering his wedding ring. She caught his nervous gesture and shook her head.

"We need to go." She insisted, "Alison and Emma are getting worried about you."

"I'm not leaving." He said and stubbornly stood his ground. Daphne just covered her face with her hand and sighed.

"I guess I'll just have to tell them that then." she muttered, walking away to somewhere he didn't care about.

He was alone again. Should he call her back, demand that she not let this go? He really didn't know much about death, but he felt like she should care more. Was she numbing herself, putting a brave face on for everyone?

Then a new, more annoyed voice spoke.

"Puck, you need to let this go." He felt arms ghost around his waist. Was she an angel, here to taunt him with what he could no longer have?

"You heard Daphne, they're all waiting for you." He let out a choked sound.

"You know better than anyone how much this means to me!"

Sabrina let out a long suffering sigh. It was time he faced this. She let out the harsh news.

"Mr. Bubbles was a great fish Puck, but we need to go home."

"Never!"

Sabrina held in a groan as her over dramatic husband sobbed on her shoulder. Next time, she would know better than to let him get a pet.

"Puck, would you feel better if we went to go get ice cream?" He sniffled. "What kind of ice cream?" Sabrina sighed.

"Any kind you want." He looked up hopefully.

"Chocolate?" Another sigh.

"Yes."

.-.-.-.

"Did you guys see how nutty dad acted?" Emma crowed, grinning at her aunt. Daphne gave her precious niece a side ways glance as she climbed into the car.

"That wouldn't have anything to do with that emotion enhancing potion I lost, would it?" Daphne wasn't sure if she wanted to laugh or reprimand the girl.

"Course not." Emma hummed.

"You certainly are Puck's daughter." Daphne muttered under her breath, starting the car as she saw Sabrina and Puck come to join them. Puck was much more joyful as he practically skipped down the muddy slope, singing loudly about ice cream.
