Author's Note: Hello everyone =ยท=. It's me again, Scarlet. Before we begin, I'd like to thank you all for reading my previous stories. It means a lot. Another thing, this story is a take-off on Kaoru's "Pumpkin Theory" from episode 21 of the anime. I plan on writing a series of 2 chapter stories (Maybe more if I'm asked nicely :3) of different renditions of this theory to go with the 4 seasons. Most of which will be from Kaoru's point of view with Hikaru occasionally popping up from time to time. Hope you enjoy!

~Bound To Snow~

*Third Person P.O.V*

Snow fell gently outside of the mansion of the Hitachiin family. The Hitachiin twins were inside their room. The eldest of the pair, Hikaru, was sleeping fitfully in his and Kaoru's shared bed. Kaoru, however, was seated by the bay window, watching the falling white outside. He seemed deep in thought about something...

*Kaoru's P.O.V*

I sat by the window, watching the snow fall. You were asleep, as expected. I tried, but my mind raced. I couldn't help but wonder how long this bond we have was to last. Our bond is like the falling snow, Hikaru. First, we fall. Gently, at first, then harder and harder. We stay a while, so deep in love and joy we can't think straight.

Then, the dreaded melt comes. Our fallout. That's my fear. When our melt comes, I don't know what I'll do. I know you, however, will go running to Haruhi. You always have. I'm happy you found someone other than me to care about. I can't help but feel a twinge of jealousy, though. That is what started the melt.

A patch of frostbitten grass appearing amongst the perfect white. A crack in our otherwise perfect bond. You were oblivious as always to this. Our snow white bond was melting, Hikaru. I wonder... Will our snow ever return? It has to. It's bound to snow again...Someday.

Untill that day comes, I'll continue to watch the snow fall and hope that it stays a while. Who knows? Perhaps, our snow will be eternal. I hope so. "Kaoru? Come back to bed..." Hikaru called sleepily. I was jolted from my thoughts. "Uh, c-coming Hikaru." I replied, taking one last look at the placid white. I hope it stays forever.
