Author's Note (kind of): For the first time in a long time I decided to log back into my FFN account, and I find this from all the way back in 2013. I think that this one of the first fanfics I ever wrote, and while it's not the best, it's also not the worst. Honestly I have a pretty fond memory of sitting down with my old Windows XP potato laptop and writing this on its built-in word processor.
Either way, I don't really have the heart to delete this, so I figured I'd stick an author's note here to explain what I was thinking when I wrote it. I think it was supposed to be part of a series, and the "dialog" that's just a line was actually properly written dialog, but at this point it's been so long that I don't remember what it was.
So yeah, whether you're here because you decided to look through my account after I cross posted something from Ao3, or was up late one night and got super lost in FFN's archives, I hope you enjoy this little blast from the past for what it is.
(This is an illustration, really, of The Great Forest, a world involving Pokemon People, their legends, and gods. Various
Stories may follow different characters in different places, in
different time periods. The lines are the ancient language, since I cant use different fonts, I had to use lines, if you want me to change tis, just say so. SO read on, and enjoy :D)
The Great Forest is a land with many legends, but today we are simply focusing on one. This story tells of a Time Traveler, and how her efforts, combined with those of The Beast of The Sea, managed to save quite a lot of lives. This tale happened such a very long time ago,so long, in fact, that now it's more like a legend, but never mind what the elders may tell you, I'm here to illustrate the real story, so lets start.
The Great Forest: A Plan For Peace.
"-"
"I-I don't know, I hope not."
"-"
"Maybe we can? Not save everyone, but save all of the people possible."
"-"
"You wouldn't help?" Her eyes grew wide in disbelief.
"-"
"Oh, I see." She looked incredibly disappointed at the fact he could not help.
"-"He held out a silver, glistening feather, and she looked at it in surprise.
"-"
She took the feather, putting it away to keep it safe.
"I-I will, I'll find him and ask him to help me."
"Toss it into the sea, and he will come."
"Yes, into the sea, I understand!"
At this, she flew away and looked back only once to call out a thank-you to the Temporal Pokemon that had done his best to help.
Eventually, she came to the ocean, and threw the feather into the sea just as Dialga had instructed. As soon as the feather touched the water, a great rumbling sound could be heard, and a whirlpool had formed around the feather.
"WHO DISTURBS MY SLEEP?" Roared a great, ancient voice.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you, but really, really bad stuff is happening and I really, really, really need your help." She said in barely a whisper.
"- how nice to see you again."
"Please, talk more quietly."
"Right, my apologies, you said something about really bad stuff happening, please explain."
So she did, she told of how people were dying, of how the war that was foretold appeared to be coming true, and how they HAD to do something to try and stop it, when no one else could.
"I see, this IS a problem, but what I don't see is what we could do."
"Well, um, you could create a giant storm? I mean, you could make a giant storm over both armies to allow people NOT fighting to get away."
"Well, Celebi. It's worth a shot, after all, if it's the only plan we have."
"Right!"
And so, dear reader, they enacted their plan, a plan that, in the end, managed to save a lot of lives, as well as get the threat of this war recognized by the other Legendary Pokemon. Now, the battle was won, but was the war? The war between good and bad, species that, before this threat, treated each other like vermin. But, THAT story, dear reader, is for another time.
(Sorry for the text heavy-ness, the lines used were the ancient language, a language known only to the Legendary Pokemon, any way, send feed back, let me know if you like the different Legends speaking in different fonts, and now that I think of it, I don't care if you picture the characters as Pokemon or Poke-people.)
Till next time.
