Hi! Yes, I'm alive! This is dedicated to Ninjadino721 who has been patient! No one is updating! Including me! Anyways... This fic was inspired by The Offspring's 'Trust in You' and, YES, ITS SHORT! WHAT YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT!

Disclaimer: I don't own GOTG

Rocket was NEVER one to accept help, from anyone. In fact, if you offered you were more likely to lose fingers than end up helping the feisty creature. He would distance himself from anyone who tried to make it close in fear of being betrayed. Only Groot got close enough, and that was only because he couldn't be blown up. That made him both hard to get rid of and rather useful.

He wanted company, or at least he thought he did, but there was no way he would let the universe know that, deep down, the infamous 'Rocket Raccoon' wanted a companion. Besides, he was yet to find someone... Trustworthy. It was easier just to play the 'lone wolf'. When ever someone approached him it seemed alright, but then he'd find... Something. A trait he didn't like. That made him nervous.

But then Peter Quill and his band of misfits barged into his life and he found himself being hurtled along for the ride. How did it come to this again? He was certain that he couldn't do it, that one day he'd have a temper tantrum and blow this rust bucket into the next cosmos... But, maybe... Just maybe... He was ready for friends? He didn't even know... Yet, despite all the good aspects of his new found friends, he couldn't trust them. He just couldn't. Years of distrust had lead to a bad habit of only seeing the negatives.

But he could learn, learn to see the positive side of things, right? He wasn't even that out of place... A assassin turned hero, a 90's obsessed human with a bad sense of humour, a murdering, psychotic maniac with family issues, a tree and a pyromaniacal, trigger-happy, badass racoon with anger issues. Yup, for once, the little freak is part of the crowd.
