Edward POV

I was sitting in Biology; waiting for class to start. I couldn't help thinking about what happened during lunch.

As like everyday, my family and myself went to the cafeteria. Like always, we get the cold shoulder. Well, everyone but me. Though, I wish I got the cold shoulder.

All the female population had there eyes on me. Almost throwing themselves at me. Disgusting.

"If you want the girls to layoff you, date one of them." My brother, Emmett told me; like everyday we come here.

I looked around. Jamie Corl was staring at me. Again.

She was one of the girls who liked me. Too bad the feeling wasn't mutual. Great. She's coming over.

"Hey there Eddie." Jamie flirtatiously said to me.

Can't she – as well as everyone else – get the hint? I'm just not interested.

"Jamie" I mumbled back. I wished I never said anything.

She took a seat in the only available seat. Beside me. This is going to be one long lunch hour. I thought to myself.

"Jamie, why don't you go sit with your friends?" I asked her.

She pouted her lips and said "But Eddie, we have a connection. Even if you don't realize it yet." She said while putting her hand on my arm.

"For one, stop calling me that. Two, I'm not interested. And three, leave, now." I told her point blank.

She got up and walked away. Never looking my way again.

That's when it happened.

I got overpowered by this marvelous, yet hateful scent.

I looked around, then I noticed her.

The new girl. Bella. As I heard everyone say in their minds.

I looked at her. She looked over my way. Then back to her friends.

Two of them I recognized. Jessica Stanley and Lauren Mallory. Two girls that throw themselves at me.

I heard her ask about me. I found out that I couldn't read her mind. That was frustrating.

She looked over once again, our eyes held. Then I had to look away. I couldn't believe what had just happened to me. For a reason, I wanted her. She made me extremely thirsty.

Stop it Edward. Think about your family. About how hard you worked for this strength. Don't let one girl ruin it all for you guys. I thought to myself. Just then, the bell rang. Finally.
