The door to his Neechan's room was not really opened but pretty much left unclosed whenever his future brother-in-law came, so Tsukushi could actually get glimpses of what was going in there if he so wished. Not that he would actually do that. He might have actually wanted to, but no thanks, he was mature enough now not to.

"Do you want to sleep with me?" Tsukushi could hear his Neechan said.

..did he just heard what he thought she said?

And so despite everything, Tsukushi looked into her room through whatever little opening the door kindly provided and saw his Neechan, as lack-of-sleep as she was these days, sat on her own bed. Facing her, his future brother-in-law held her gaze unfazed. His ever unchanging expression gave out no reaction to whatever she just said.

"That way, when I wake up in cold sweat under my blanket, you could tell me it's nothing, it's normal, it's just…" his Neechan was unable to finish her sentence and just like that his future brother-in-law brought her onto his chest. As she was silently buried her face onto his chest, he still wore the same unfazed expression, though the way he softly stroke her hair said otherwise.

Tsukushi thought it wasn't his place to keep watching, so he quietly left the scene he wasn't even supposed to watch to begin with.

It was already dinner time so Tsukushi came up to check on them. As he stood in front of his Neechan's room, Tsukushi could see that his Neechan was actually sleeping and his future brother-in-law was silently watching her sleeping face. Tsukushi knocked a bit to let his future brother-in-law know he was there without disturbing his Neechan's sleep.

His future brother-in-law did turn to face the source of the sound and Tsukushi walked towards him, "Neechan is asleep?"

His future brother-in-law silently nodded so Tsukushi continued, "It's already dinner time, so Kaachan asked me to check on you two. Now that Neechan is finally able to sleep, I don't think we supposed to wake Neechan up?"

Tsukushi looked at his future brother-in-law who gave a silent response that clearly agreed on him, "I'll tell Kaachan. And I take it you won't join us either?"

Because you want to stay by her side…

His future brother-in-law nodded and Tsukushi took his leave, "And Hazuki? Thanks…"

Finished! ..or not. Ah, well. Goddess of plot is leaving me, if that's even possible. But I love this man too much to leave him without his birthday fic at the very least.
