Author's Note: Hey everybody! I'm back with another MR fic, but just to warn you this one's…uh…sad I guess…well depends which team you're on (either Miggy or Fax). Anyway, here it is and flames/criticism is wanted and probably needed.

Disclaimer: I do not own pure joy, so I do not own the Maximum Ride Series or Iggy.

Iggy couldn't move, hell he couldn't breath, he was in so much pain. The Erasers had ambushed them. There had been thousands maybe, how could they have won? In the end, they had left them to suffer and ultimately die. Iggy didn't know where Fang was—they had been split up from the start.

So as the strawberry-blonde pyro lay on the blood-soaked grass waiting for death to come all he could do was think. Think about her; Max. He hoped she would get to Fang in time. Iggy knew Fang and Max were in love. He knew Max would choose Fang over him in a heartbeat, but it didn't bother him: Iggy wasn't like that. He'd be happy to watch her be happy with another than be sad and alone.

"Iggy!"

I mutant in question jumped at his love's voice. "Max," he croaked.

She emerged from behind a few trees. Her hair was a mess, her clothes torn. She was the most beautiful thing Iggy had ever seen. When she saw him she gasped and ran over to his side. "Iggy! Are you o—"

Iggy put a finger to his lips. "Look, Max go find Fang."

Max jumped back. "WHAT? Why would I do that?"

"He's…hurt." Iggy coughed and choked violently. His breath was coming in short gasps now.

The flock's leader frowned. "Like you're not?" Her voice was hurt and desperate.

The pyro shook his head. "That's not the point!" He paused when he began to shake with coughs. Spitting blood onto the grass he continued. "Max, you need to find Fang. Go…save him. With out him you…you'd be a mess; you wouldn't be Max. You can't lead the flock with a broken heart, Max, and you know it." He gasped for a ragged breath.

He knew it was the end, but it didn't matter so much to him. What did matter was that Max reached Fang. With him Max would be truly happy, and for Max to be happy was his last dying wish. As he watched her fly away, her tears finally falling, he whispered, "I love you Max…always and forever."

Max cried herself to sleep that night. Not because she didn't reach Fang in time, she did, but because Iggy was gone. Iggy was gone and he'd never know the truth:

She loved him too.

Author's Note: Wow, that's really depressing. Believe it or not form this, but I am team Miggy. It practically killed me to write this because Iggy is my favorite character! Horrible or not, and it is horrible, I'm proud I actually got myself to write this.

For all of you waiting for Visible to the Raven's Eye I promise I'll get it up as soon as it's done! Sorry for the wait!

Peace, Love, Iggy, Mark.
