I'm sitting here unsure of what to do. Starfire is everything to me and I would put my life down on the line for her in a heartbeat. I know I wasn't great at first. I wasn't the best person to have a crush on as I wasn't sure what to do with myself. Star once asked me if men came with instruction manuals and that was why I was so complicated. I laugh at the memory. Yeah, don't you just wish. I think every woman in the world would want their man to come with an instruction manual.

I look over at her small body, the only sign of her still being alive the little rise and fall of her chest. How did everything manage to get so out of hand? It was a mission like any other. Large mutant bug destroying the city and the Team ready to take it down. But, something...something happened. What happened? What went wrong? One minute she was fine and the next, the next she was falling from the sky in a rain of rubble. I swung off the building I was on and caught her just before she hit the solid ground.

"Star? Star, please wake up! Guys, somethings wrong!"

I ran her to safety and took down the monster in all my rage within the next few moments. She needed help and I intended to get her to it. And I had.

She is now lying in the Towers infirmary hooked up to all the tubes they could find. We still aren't sure what's wrong with her and I can't help but fear the worst. Cy is running blood tests in his room to see if the bug had any poisonous barbs or saliva. Perhaps she's infected. If she is I can only hope to God it's curable. I'll crawl across the galaxies if I have to if I knew it would save her.

She still isn't stirring. Please stir Star. Please come back to me. I need you. I stroke a thumb across her soft cheek before leaning over and touching my forehead to hers. She's warm. Too warm. She has a fever. There's nothing we can do about it at the moment though. Instead I keep my head against hers.

"Star," I whisper. "I will save you. I promised you I would take care of you. We all will. Just hang in there okay? stay strong.

For god's sake Star don't leave me." I say after a short pause. "Please. I only just figured out how to say I love you."
