Sarah Williams sighed. Although living alone had been exciting during the first few weeks, she was now wishing she was young again and carefree. After burning her dinner, throwing away the charred failures and ordering a pizza, she decided to start on the endless pile of dishes.
She filled the sink with soapy water. Sarah scrubbed black pans as she listened to some relaxing music done by a jazzy female artist. As the T.V. whirred, she spotted a pop artist from her generation that caused her to do a double take. He looked so familiar, for some reason.
Her attention was slowly digressing as an hour passed by. She wondered if her target audience was going to enjoy her new fantasy novel. Sarah smiled as she thought of the hero of her story riding high above the clouds on the great Dragosaur, with the wind flowing through his hair. Toby, now in middle school, said that his friends all loved her series.
Sarah wondered how to dress for her interview on the national late night show. How should a fantasy writer dress? She had no idea that her sink was overflowing, and that she had been standing blankly the entire time.
She cussed loudly, then drained the water. Sarah bent down to clean the fallen water.
Bubbles were rising from the sink almost magically.
Sarah they called.
She looked up.
Before her was the Goblin King.
She screamed.
"How did you- I- What- bubbles? And where are my dishes?"
"One question at a time, precious. It looked like you needed help."
" Well…thanks."
He raised an eyebrow.
"Your welcome."
He kissed her, and then poofed away.
She blinked in confusion.
"Goblins did my dishes…he he"
