Magnus
"What's that?" Alec said, wrapping his arms around my shoulders.
"It's called a computer," I say, amused at his apparent lack of knowledge of the modern world.
"I know that," he said. "I meant what are you on?"
"It's called Facebook, darling." I say, chuckling a bit. He has to have heard of Facebook before.
"What's it do?" I turn my head towards him, and see that his face is just filled with curiosity.
I sigh dramatically and scoot my desk chair back, gesturing towards my lap.
"Have a seat, Alec. You have a lot to learn."
Alec frowned a bit, then sat on my lap.
"Okay. Facebook is a social networking website." I start.
"A what?" Alec says.
"It's a website where people can connect. They can make friends and chat with them."
"Oh. That's all?" Alec asks, apparently still not getting why I get on it so much.
"Okay. This is my profile, right? And that's my profile picture." I point to the picture on the left side of the screen, a picture that some faerie took of me when I'd had one too many drinks at one of my wilder parties.
Alec nodded in understanding.
I scroll down and pointed with my finger.
"This is how many friends I have."
"Nine hundred and sixty-eight?" Alec sounded dubious.
"And counting," I add, clicking on my profile picture.
"These are all the pictures that I've uploaded onto the website." I say, watching his eyebrows raise.
"Why do you have 58 pictures of yourself on here?"
"Not just myself. There's other people, too."
"Like who?"
"Friends. People that come to my parties."
Alec nodded and said, "You know, there was something that interested me on the other thing."
"What?"
"Go back to your profile." I did so.
"What does that mean?" he says, pointing to where it said 'in a relationship'.
"It means that I'm in a relationship."
"May I ask who?"
I lean in and kiss his cheek. "I think you know."
"Just wondering. It could've been some vampire from one of your parties."
"Well maybe if you got a Facebook, I could put that it was you."
"Hm, don't count on it." Alec says, kissing me on my lips. I think it's safe to say that neither of our minds were on Facebook at that moment.
So I got the City of Bones book for Christmas and kind of accidentally fell in love with Magnus. Whoops! I can't wait to get the City of Ashes! (This note was completely unrelated to the story, I know, but what're you gonna do? :) ) Maybe later I'll do another chapter on Alec getting a Facebook.
