AN: Try looking up a complete list of idioms, I want to see how many I used…

Okay, normally she wouldn't have thought about it.
In fact, she had deliberately tried to avoid thinking about the subject.
But now he was in her house, hovering over her bed, and Minto didn't like vampires.
So as hard as she tried not to move, just to stay calm and pretend to be asleep, her curiosity gnawed away at her.
Minto sat up abruptly.
"Why do you have fangs?!" she yelled.
Kishu flew back against the wall as though struck by some invisible force, struck it with a deafening crash, and muttered curses under his breath. It took him a moment to recover, then:
"How long have you been awake?"
Minto glared at him, half squinting in the dark, but Kishu could still see it.
"Well?" Minto snapped.
"Good question… I believe the phrase is 'for me to know and you to-'something, but I always lose the end." Kishu examined his fingernails as though bored, but was desperately trying to keep a blush off his face.
"It's 'find out,' you nitwit, which I am attempting to do." Minto's temper rose inexplicably as she spoke. Being the spoiled rich child she was, it was infuriating to be denied the answer to a question that chewed at her like Pudding on chili fries. Kishu waggled a finger that Minto couldn't see, struggling to keep his cool.
"Perhaps I should have chosen 'keep your nose on your face,' or 'buzz off,' or 'none of your business," Kishu chuckled. "I do love idioms."
"Well, if you hadn't stopped me from catching some Zs, maybe I wouldn't be all up in your face." She smirked. "How do you like them apples?"
"Red and juicy. Don't blow your top, Minto, you've bitten off more than you can chew." Minto had always been fairly competitive and it had annoyed her greatly when her parents told other children to let her win at games when she was little. She gladly took the opportunity to prove her wordy ability.
"Don't kid! I was just burning the midnight oil pulling an all-nighter and I was bushed so I decided to call it a day. But then you picked my room to shoot the breeze in with your pointy pearly whites! For all I know, I could have narrowly escaped attack by a bloodsucker! You've worn out your welcome, so get going and step on it."
She looked satisfied.
"Holy cow! There were maybe twelve idioms in that sentence. Have you gone off your rocker?"
They were silent for a while, and then Kishu spoke again.
"I suppose I'll go now."
"So you forfeit?" Minto looked disappointed.
"Not in a million years. A truce? Shall we call it a tie?" Minto shook her indigo locks furiously.
"When hell freezes over! We'll continue later." Kish looked amused.
"Yes, later…" Kishu raised his hand and ripples began emanating in the air. At the last moment Minto heard him whisper faintly,
"Stupid baby teeth."
She was left to ponder this thought.
