Prologue
Have you ever fallen in love with a teacher?
If you answered yes, you're not alone.
Majority of kids when in High School will, at some point or another, develop feelings for a teacher. This usually happens because we, ourselves, are looking for more. Teachers know things that we could never get from somebody our age. However the teacher is usually married, has kids, or both; so it never works out.
Teachers and students spend a lot of time together so consequently teacher and student fall in love. Now I know what you're thinking, that hardly ever happens but it is actually more common than you think. Whenever you hear a news report about teachers getting arrested for having relationships with students that's probably what's happened but of course the reporters only focus on the fact that they were having an illegal relationship.
This is what happened to the characters in this story. Two people living relatively normal lives until a chance meeting changes their world completely. Their lives get turned upside down when a 18 year old, year 12 student meets a 23 year old Teachers Aide at Freedom High School on the Central Coast. They get thrown into secrecy and emotional turmoil after falling in love but taking risks if caught means you have a price to pay. So what happens when the whole school finds out? They both have to overcome barriers to be together upon suffering prejudice and discrimination and the negative assumptions of society.
Together they challenge society and fight back at the hate. After all hate is just fear of the unknown.
