A Land So Wonderful

Wander hoisted himself up onto his unusually large stallion of a horse. It was such a deep black. "Agro...." The Wanderer gently called to it. The horse began to trot forward, down the stairs and out of the temple from which Wander continuously emerged from after a fearsome ordeal of slaying a moving mountain. The forbidden lands were always quiet save for the hoof steps of Agro or the call of a hawk. Sometimes the wind would blow loudly, if only to remind The Wanderer that this land was uninhibited. He rode through the lush green forests that grew between mountains. Stubborn light was able to just barely push past the ceiling of leaves as rays of sunshine lit the dark that gathered there. He stopped momentarily to let Agro drink from a small pond, sitting on a rock just beside it. Moss grew easily upon them. He slid off into the water and cupped his hands, leaning in too, to quench his thirst from the clear liquid. Both having had their fill, the horse and man once again weaved through the trees. They came out into a canyon. It was bright. The rocky walls surrounding them were high but an opening seemed to let in all of the sun. Lizards skittered along the ground, some unfortunate enough to be trampled underfoot to easily escape with their life but without a tail. They were led out into a large desert in a short period of time, the large iconic bridge that was the only entrance and exit greeted them. It looked so fragile. Wander playfully crossed Agro in and out of the pillars holding the bridge steady.

Their day wore on and The Wanderer was now riding alongside the large drop to the water below the led out into the ocean. Doves, pure white, flew in flocks above him and he smiled briefly. He deviated his attention to the zig-zag path that led slowly downward to the shore. They had made their way down. Wander had dismounted, letting his sandaled feet sink into the sand and get hit by the waves. Agro whinnied and he turned. The horse lowered it's head and Wander pet him knowingly. Agro knew that they were not done. Wander had one more Colossus to kill. He once again got onto Agro and began to follow the light of his sword. It led him to and open field and as he rode he began to think of his days spent exploring the beautiful land. Once he had Mono back in his arms alive and no longer had the dread of a early death he could seem himself living wonderfully together with those he loved in place where he had never seen such natural wonders. His own Sanctuary.
