Disclaimer: Reaverattack... I mean... Joss owns all.

A/N: This is the sequel to Do As You're Told. I was very surprised to see how much people liked, as I wasn't very fond of it myself. But, you all got the bunnies hopping for this one...

"Mei mei," Simon said to her, "stop. Give the captain his coat back. This isn't nice."

Jayne jus' rolled his eyes an' kept shovelin' protein inta his mouth. 'Weren't nice.' Gorram feng le girl was almost, what? Eighteen? Nineteen? Either way, she weren't five. Jayne was pretty sure she damn well knew that takin' Mal's coat weren't nice. She just didn't give a good gorram. She usually listened to the doc, though. Said he was 'fixin' her' or some fei hua like that.

"She doesn't have to listen to him. She is a grown woman and can make her own choices."

Jayne choked on his food. The hell? That's what he told her, ain't it? When she was in that strippin' an' obeyin' phase? Damn. That sounded hotter'n he meant it to. Anyway, Jayne was pretty sure she was repeatin' him. Not good. He's the one that got her in her rebellious phase. Best ta just keep his head low an' hope this blows over soon. No sense gittin' involved, what ain't yer problem.

It didn't blow over. Captain got his ruttin' coat back, sure. But, Crazy was still disobeyin' just to disobey. It was real annoyin'.

"C'mon, River. I really need that!"

"Need nourishment, rest, shelter, waste expulsion, warmth. Don't need a wrench."

"I really do, River. Serenity's got a lose bolt an' I wanna patch her up."

Shiny. Now, just 'cuz of what Jayne said to her, they was prob'ly gonna fall right out of the sky.

"River, it's bedtime, mei mei."

"This girl is staying up."

"No, River, you can't."

"Can too. Grown woman! Can make her own choices!"

Jayne winced. That had ta be 'bout the ninth time in two days she said that. An' this time, it happened. Someone asked why she kept sayin' it.

"It was pointed out to her by Jayne."

Damn. Jayne groaned.

"Any light you wanna be shedding on this, Jayne?" Mal asked.

"Uh... It's true."

"It is not true! She's crazy!" Simon received a kick in the shins for that one.

"Well, it's better'n her doin' every damn thing I said!"

"What?" Simon face screwed up all confused-like. "Why was she doing what you told her to?"

"Her brother told her to. However, it was a simple misunderstanding," the feng le girl explained. "Jayne explained that she does not have to obey every order because she can make her own choices."

"You did?" Mal looked puzzled.

"Yes. He did not approve of her state of undress."

Oh god.

"State of... of... mei mei...?"

Don't say it. Don't say it. Don't say it.

"He made her remove her skirt."

Lao tian, Jayne was gonna die. "I did not!"

"Well, no, not actually. Another misunderstanding. Missing the point."

"And that is...?"

"That she can make her own choices."

"Ain'tcha never heard of a middle ground?" Jayne heard hisself blurt out. "Some yes, some no? Thinkin' it through? Not bein' a pain ion the ass just 'cuz ya wanna be?"

"Oh."

Jayne grunted.

"A simple misunderstanding. Thank you, Jayne."

She skipped out, leavin' Jayne, Mal, an' Simon ta sit there, lookin' like dumbasses.
