This does not follow any time line, it was just an idea I had going to sleep one night.

Gambit was sitting on the roof thinking again, the glow of his cigarette outlining his haggard face, making his eyes glow like embers in the dark. His thoughts where filled with memories as they all tried to fill his mind at once. Flashing before his eyes where pictures from his many lives.

A young women laying on a bed her black hair fanning out around her head, she was screaming in pain.

She had been the first person he had let get close in a hundred years and look where it got her; he remembered her hateful eyes when she looked up from her hands. That's where he first met his counterpart, the only other person in the world with his curse. He looked at his hands in the dark and grimaced, in those hands lay a millions old project of a man who couldn't wait for the future.

He had wanted mutations in that time so he could study them. So he kidnapped two starving young children from the streets and had changed them into walking disasters any living being they came in contact with would then be infected with a virus that would become what they now called the x gene, turning them into mutants. Later the doctor had updated his projects when they had resisted touching people so they would require human contact in most forms though especially sexual so the virus would carry faster and be more effective. The other change he made was mutating the virus so it kept their bodies in a frozen state so they would always be in their prime and desired by women and men alike.

Shaking the images out of his head Gambit sighed again, it was time to go to his room and lock the door. Sometimes the pull to find a woman in a bar became to strong and he needed to keep himself away from everyone, his preference may be women but the virus would take anyone it could get. Remy grimaced again when he felt the pain beginning in his head, the doctor had done his job well in his programming, soon Remy would need to find a mutant girlfriend or his body would start shutting down and the virus would send out some "germs" in the air to find an unsuspecting host who would have no idea what had happened or what to do. He sat on his bed and read for about an hour before his body revolted on him and sent waves of pain though him for denying it what it wanted. Suddenly there was a knock on the door and he heard someone call his name, "Merde" he thought, "I must have missed dinner!" Gritting his teeth he forced his aching brain to project an empty room incase someone tried to scan the room for him while he lay there he could hear the foots steps walking away and a voice muttering about "certain idiot Cajuns never learning."

Sighing, he slowly started relaxing one muscle at a time the last thing his aching head heard before he fell into an exusted sleep was a mocking bird outside in the dark forest singing itself to sleep, then the nightmares took over and his mind was overrun with images of the people whose lives he had ruined with his curse.
