Two hours, it had been two hours since Eren woke up, doctors and nurses kept doing things he didn't understand, and a guy was standing next to his bed, watching over him.
And, this whole time, Eren was bored, irritated, but mostly confused, and It was irritating.
The sound of the door opening, brought some relief to him, either it would a doctor touching the annoying beeping boxes, or a nervous nurse rechecking something.
This time, It was a doctor, but she brought someone else with her.
"Ah, glad to see you're awake, I'm detective Tsukauchi." The man said, he was wearing a tan trench coat over his suit.
He walked up to the bed with the doctor, and she took over.
"Normally when a patient regains consciousness we would ask them basic questions to judge their cognitive state and get more information about them, but considering your circumstances, we had to wait." The doctor said, Eren looked down to his wrists, where they were shackled to the bed, and the bed was bolted down.
The doctor clicked a pen, and brought it up to her clipboard. "Let's get started, shall we?" Her question matched the look she was giving him, as if asking if he's going to cooperate.
Eren sighed, feeling oddly subdued, and answered. "Fine, let's just get this over with."
After a bunch of questions, a few things became clear.
Eren had no idea who he was, he had some form of amnesia, the only personal thing he remembered was his name: Eren Jaeger. But it wasn't limited to his person, he also didn't know a lot about the modern world, he had no idea what technologies existed or how society was, or even what a Quirk was.
They couldn't find any records of him as a citizen, but his blood did come back with a match.
It matched a substance found in an overgrown sewer rat the went on a rampage four months ago.
When they were done with questions about his far past, they went with questions about his near past, mainly yesterday, when they brought him in.
Apparently, he had went on a rampage as a fifteen meter monster, he was brought down by a Pro Hero named Mt. Lady and a few others Pro Heroes.
He had flashes of the fight as they talked about it, but couldn't recall anything before it.
The thing that became the clearest, was why Eren felt subdued, he didn't have a goal, and talking about Heroes and Villains ignited a spark within him, he wanted to take down Villains.
When he brought this up with the doctor and detective, the doctor glanced at the detective with asking eyes.
The detective then sighed and smiled, he explained it was possible for him, but it would be a lot more difficult than it should be, Eren didn't have an actual record, and his new one would include the fact he went on a rampage.
Eren had responded by saying he didn't care about how difficult it would be, he was going to be take down Villains.
Over the course of a week, the doctors finished up work on Eren, apparently he also hadn't had most shots.
Which of course, brought another problem, Eren was afraid of needles, well, not afraid, just paranoid. He would constantly be questioning what was in them? What they would do to him?
Unknown to Eren, detective Tsukauchi already had his own theory as to how Eren lived before his rampage, and it wasn't pretty.
The fact that Eren's Quirk was bloodborne, as evidenced by that sewer rat, means that his Quirk could passed around as some sort of transfusion transmitted infection or TTI, all a Villain needs for a quick power up is his blood.
And with the recent suspected rise of Trigger cases, Villains would soon become too much for the average hero.
Villains desperate for power do terrible things, like abusing other Quirks, and it's much easier to control a child than a adult.
And it's much easier to control a child when no one knows he's alive.
Detective Tsukauchi theory was that, Eren's birth was kept hidden from the government, and his parents, or whoever was responsible for him, they kept him in hopes he would give them an ace up their sleeves.
When talking to Eren, he revealed he didn't know of his Quirk, how to use it, or what caused him to go on rampage.
Maybe it took a while, but whoever kept him hidden finally figured out his Quirk, and maybe the sewer rat was a test, but then something happened to cause Eren to go on a rampage.
With his theory in mind, Detective Tsukauchi, was troubled on how to proceed, his interview with the boy only showed him a immature brat with a strong sense of justice, or at least a hatred for injustice.
What was he going to do with him? Eren wasn't malicious enough to be a Villain, but he couldn't just be released back into public with an unregistered Quirk he didn't know how to use.
Eren couldn't even be a witness in his own case, he didn't remember anything.
Prison would be too much, the Public would endanger everyone around him, including himself, there was also a chance of him becoming a Vigilante.
That left his options limited, but Detective Tsukauchi didn't need to go over all of them, he already had one in mind.
So, he called a meeting with an old friend and a confusing animal.
The meeting went smoothly, Nezu had some more to add to his theory, it was mostly about Eren's handlers and not about Eren.
Toshinori had placed more worry on Eren's Quirk being misused by Villains.
The end decision was that Eren would take the entrance exam in six months, but only if he could demonstrate partial control over his Quirk, as to not endanger anyone.
Eren would need training, it may seem unfair, but most students spent their whole life training with their Quirks.
Now, it's just finding a way to get him that training, luckily, this problem came up during Tsukauchi meeting with Nezu.
Neze recommend making Eren's training count as rehabilitation, now the issue was getting a qualified Pro hero to dedicate time to Eren.
There comes a point during a meeting with Nezu, where you question how long he's had the answer.
Apparently there's a Pro Hero who has some fines she could pay off by doing some more work for the community, but since Hero work counts as community service without pay, and she's constantly getting fined for her work, she's stuck in a cycle of debt.
And her Quirk was similar to what they assumed Eren's Quirk was, she was Mt. Lady, one of the Pro Heroes that took down Eren.
In the end, it was a win for everyone.
The government would have a potential drug off the streets and away from Villains.
U.A. would get a potential student.
Eren Jaeger would train and understand his Quirk.
Mt. Lady or Yu Takeyama would be able to pay off her fines and 'rehabilitating a delinquent to keep him off the path of Villainy' as the media saw it, would help her public image.
