Katniss pov
Every day was the same I'd wake up in the small soft recliner chair in my home in victors village. I'd just think, think of how life could've been if Effie were to pull any other slip of paper out of the jar the 74th hunger games reaping. I would still have my little duck, my old home, and so many people would still have their life's. But Prim was called I did volunteer, I did fall for Peeta, he was tortured in the capital still recovering, I did lead the rebellion and kill President Snow.
After a few hours of thinking Greasy Sae would come over and be disappointed when she sees me in the same spot as the night before. She quickly feeds me breakfast before heading off for work and tells me, like everyday Haymich will be by at lunch she'll be back once work is done.
Haymich would come comment on how I do nothing offer me a drink get pissed when I declined and then would put a sandwich on a plate on the table next to me watch me until I at it then leave.
Greasy Sae would come again feed me clean a little talk to me then leave after turning the lights off so I could sleep. But I could tell today was strangely different. Greasy Sae left in the morning in the exact same routine.
2 came around and a knock was heard off my door I said "Come in Haymitch" the first time I spoke since the capital. Then in walked not who I was expecting, Haymitch did not stand in front of me.
"Peeta?" Was all I could choke out why was he here? Was he recovered? Did he still care at all about me?
"Katniss what happened to you." Peeta whispered.
"What do you mean nothing." I said my voice raspy from not talking for months.
"You're so thin and, have you even left that spot?" He asked worried. I said nithing in reply just looked at the ground.
"Answer me Katniss I have been gone but don't think even for a second I stopped caring for you." Peeta said without hesitation.
I got up almost falling over with each step I took and embraced Peeta into a strong hug.
