They were sharing a drink at the Old Haunt, winding down after a long day. Esposito had long since left with a slightly tipsy Lanie and Ryan throwing on his coat.

"See you tomorrow guys." he said as he slipped his arm in and hitched the coat further up his back.

"See ya Ryan." Kate replied.

"Bye Ry-Guy." Castle called as Ryan rolled his eyes and exited the bar.

A comfortable silence descended on the remaining duo And they drank in silence until Kate broke it.

"I should probably get going." she said, turning to face him.

"Yeah me too." he replied.

"I'll see you tomorrow?"

"I'm sorry, I'm behind on the latest Heat novel. Gina is ridding my ass about it." He groaned as Kate broke into chuckles.

"Oh my God! Kaaaaate. Not like that."

"Sorry, sorry." she laughed as she searched for her phone. But it wasn't there. Not in her bag, or her pocket, or on the bar.

"Hey, Cas, have you seen my phone?"

"Oh. No, not since the precinct. Why?"

"Because I needed it to throw at a wall, Castle." she said sarcastically,"No, I need to call a cab."

"Oh here, use mine." he offered his phone to her and she accepted it, quickly typing in the password she knew by heart. She opened the phone app and scrolled through the contacts...E...G...J...L... Wait what was that name? "Love of my life"

Her heart clenched, who names a contact "Love of my life" thats stupid. Wonder what her number is. Probably another blond bimbo. And-wait-that is definitely not some blonde bimbos number. That's her number. Her picture. Kate Beckett.

She slowly turns to face Castle, a grin spreading across her face. Okay maybe the contact name isn't as stupid as she originally though.

"Castle? Is it true?"
