Tears build in his eyes as he turns and runs.

He ignores their words to stop and listen and focuses on running away from the painful truth.

He could feel the tears fall freely down his face as the bitter truth burned itself in his head.

His beloved Barbara and his friend Bob are boyfriend and girlfriend.

The pain from their betrayal hurt more than anything he ever experienced.

He didn't understand how they could do this to him.

Didn't understand how she could do this to him.

He knew that he wasn't perfect, knew that no one was but he was able to make her happy.

He gave her his heart and she shattered it in two.

He gave her loyalty and she repaid him with disloyalty and betrayal.

The agony and torment seared his soul and he wanted to scream and shout to the heavens.

Yet all he could manage was the tears streaming down his face as his throat seemed to close up.

He was unaware of everything as he fell down to the ground and heaved.

He felt a hand on his shoulder and through the tears he gazed at the eyes of his twin.

As Zack knelt down and gave him a comforting hug, Cody said the only thing that he could manage through the tears.

"It's hurts."

Author's Note: Cody only handled himself so well after learning about Barbara and Bob was because he was falling out of love with Barbara or he was already no longer in love with her. In thinking that I wondered how he would have reacted to the news if had still been in love with her.

I would be grateful to know if anyone else has explored this idea.
