AN: So it's been AGES since I've written fanfic, and I've NEVER written for The Librarians, but I promised myself for NaNoWriMo I would write whenever I had free time, and I was bored and this popped into my head, so for the LAST day of November and NaNoWriMo I present: The Casekiel story I always wanted to read, or, the one where Zeke is totally in love with Cassie and decides to let her be with Jake because he's actually the nicest guy on the team and thinks they deserve to be happy. (side note, this kinda turned into a poem I guess. Sorry.)
disclaimer: I don't own the show or the characters, and you can tell, because if I did Zeke would get a lot more screen time and Casekiel would be on it's way to canon.
You like her.
But she likes him.
And he likes her back.
And you wonder what kind of terrible person you would be to come between that.
You're used to people thinking you're terrible.
It's what you want them to think.
But for some reason she doesn't buy it.
And you still don't quite know how you feel about that.
She's convinced he doesn't like her.
Because he says he doesn't trust her.
But you can't see how that could be true.
Because you think she's the most trustworthy person you've ever met.
You see the way she looks at him.
And the way he looks at her.
And you see how she looks at you.
And you see how different it is from how you look at her.
You like her.
But not in the same way that he likes her.
Which is the way that she likes him.
And a type of like that you aren't sure you've ever had, or been capable of.
You like her like she is the sun.
And it's stupid and cliché and you hate it.
But she is that ray of sunshine that brightens your day.
Because she's you're best friend, and you care for her more than anything.
He likes her like she is a rare work of art.
Like she's an old painting behind a glass.
Beautiful, but fragile, and in need of protection.
And you wonder if maybe that would be better for her in the long run.
Because you like her for you.
You like how you feel around her.
And you always want her to be happy.
Because you like how much better the world seems when she is.
But he likes her for her.
He likes her for her intelligence and her smile.
He helps her, and pays attention to her.
And you're sure that in the long run that's much better for her.
So you love her.
But she's in love with him.
And he's in love with her.
And you wonder what kind of terrible person you would be to come between that.
So you don't.
AN: sorry about the 2nd person, it just kinda happened, this really got away from me in a lot of ways, but I hope it turned out okay. please review and tell me if you liked it or not.
