AN: Written for the 15 Min. Fic comm. It's unofficial for me, as a friend (Wish Wielder) suggested I do it, and I just wanted to try it out. Tis fun, and if you want something that's challenging, but simple, give it a chance! This is for you, Ver. Love ya!

He's always wanted to have a nice vacation by the beach. It's been one of his dreams, a thing he's kept locked up in a box that's labeled 'Unavailable' or 'Out of Reach'.

Sometimes, when he used to spy on Sammy at Stanford, he'd stop by the beach and sit in the Impala with the engine running and watch the pretty girls run around in their bikinis, or the tan guys play volleyball and surf, and think, 'This could have been my life once.'

Dean didn't want to be a hunter, never had, but he'd been lying if he'd said he'd never liked it. He got Daddy's praise and Sammy's love, but both of those went away because Daddy's dead because of him and Sammy almost died, but came back because of him and it always comes back to Dean.

The swell grows and grows in Dean's head like those pretty waves he used to envy and want back in California and the pressure builds, and one day, he's afraid he's just going to pop!, and no more Dean. 'But there's no more Dean anymore,' a nasty voice says, in the back of his head, 'you gave that up for Sammy and those waves don't mean a thing anymore.'

"Sam," He whispers into the sea and the night and the sand, and exhales slowly, the air expanding in his chest that tries desperately to fill the empty space but can't anymore. A sleepy murmur comes from the right of him, the hand that is loosely wrapped around his own tightens, and the waves crash onto the shore in front of them, but it doesn't mean a thing.
