Into the Ocean

Kurama sighed as he unconsciously turned the radio up. He continued to doodle in the notebook, which he was supposed to be doing his homework in. Even if it was an hour before dawn.

Where is the coastguard
I keep looking each direction
For a spotlight, give me something
I need something for protection
Maybe flotsam junk will do just fine
the jetsam sunk, I'm left behind
I'm treading for my life believe me
(How can I keep up this breathing)

He was restless. He couldn't sleep at all. He picked himself into a sitting position. Looking around, he spotted his window, which was propped open for no reason. He sighed and threw his legs over the edge of the bed. He rested his forehead in the palm of his hand.

Looking back up at the window, he decided to go for a walk. Setting aside his notebook and pencil in the draw of his nightstand. He turned off his radio using the remote. It was a birthday present from his mother for his 15th birthday. It could pick up a lot of the English radio station's.

He stepped onto the edge of his window, balanced himself, and then jumped. He landed gracefully in a catlike crouch. He rose to his full height of 5'9" and brushed off his clothes.

Taking off into the city, he slowed almost to a dead stop. Walking at a leisurely pace on bare feet, he examined the city at night. It was so surprising how everything still kept pace with the day. People, although they where scarce, still walked the streets, trying to get to their jobs. A few shops where open, but they where nothing important. At least to Kurama they where of no importance.

He ducked into an alleyway. Weaving through the building, he stepped out into a quieter part of Tokyo. He stopped and examined his surroundings. He was close to a few neighborhoods, but far away enough that there were still shops.

He turned and continued to walk again. That was when he saw her. She was walking in his direction, boot-clad feet taping the ground lightly. She had a jingling star bracelet on her wrist and a ring on her pointer finger of her right hand. Her left hand was over her ear, clutching something that looked like a headphone. The other part of the headphone was around her neck.

She came to a stop suddenly, and looked up at him. Giving him a small smile, she kept on walking, brushing past him. Kurama stopped and looked at her. As she passed him, it felt as though everything was in slow motion. His hair blew in a small puff of wind and he turned to look at the girl again. She had disappeared.

\\O.o.O//

Ok, anouther one-shot. This introduces Ryuuka Dresden, my (hopefully) main character. This is actually set before the whole series and everything.

And yes, people, Kurama is 15!

I have good back up.

If you watch the episode where he and Yuusuke are talking on the hospital roof, then you might catch what he says… He was talking about how he would have enough energy to go back to Makai when he was ten. He then says, and correct me if I'm wrong, that that was five years ago. Viola, he's fifteen. At least, in my book he is!

Anyways, song belongs to Blue October, title of "Into the Ocean." It reminded me of him for some reason… o.O

Ciao!
