But if there is ever a day that Jacob deserves to cry, this is it.
"NO!" Jacob cries out, his heart torn in two. He just couldn't believe it. There was no way that this was happening. He ripped apart his tee-shirt and used its remains to wipe his face with. He wanted to clean his eyes, but all he succeeded in doing was smearing dirt and grease across his face as he tried to erase the tears that coursed down his cheeks.
"What is it?" Quill asked, as he pounded up to Jake. He had never seen his friend so upset, or so devastated.
"No No No!" Jacob called out again, balling his hands into fists and striking a large pine tree in anger. "I don't Fucking believe it. How could she do this? How could she?!" He ranted as he stomped back and forth. He was oblivious to the puddles on the ground, and the mud that has splashed up upon his clothes. There would always be puddles and mud in this part of Washington. Especially in the deepest parts of the forest; just like in one of the spots he and Quill were in now.
"Jacob! Calm down and tell me what is wrong!" Quill put his hand on Jacob's arm. "I can't help you if you don't talk to me!" Quill's face showed his concern for his friend. Jacob was normally happy go lucky and easy tempered. Not much would throw him for a loop. If his friend was upset, it had to be something big.
"She's forsaken all of us. Turned her back on her best friend. She's gone against the tribe, and against me!" Jacob knew, with the very act of receiving this piece of paper, that he would never see his best friend, the love of his life, again. Jacob flung a piece of paper to the ground. His body shivered for a moment, and he shifted into the shape of the wolf. Tears were not enough for the grief that he felt. He sat down on his haunches, and howled deeply, a howl of grief, longing, and loneliness. His Bella was his no more. She had given herself away to another He bolted into the forest, howling as he went.
Quill picked up the piece of paper curiously, and saw that it was an invitation. A wedding invitation.
"The bitch." He swore softly. He quickly discarded the paper and shifted into his own wolf form, running after Jake.
