Author's Note: I've revamped this how many times? This is like what, the fourth time? Hell, I've lost count. Hopefully this will be the last. I liked the original plot and I wanted to stick to it or at least important parts of it. I've changed a lot about it but I've got the basic gist of it down. For instance, I've changed my OC's name. She's no longer Hitomi but Catalina. Her appearance such as hair and eye color are still the same and so is her persona somewhat but the rest is changed. Eh, I'm just gonna shut up now.

Disclaimer: I own nothing but my OC's and the plot.

Meant to Live

"We want more than this world has to offer. We want more than the wars of our fathers."

She felt dead inside. There was no hope -- she felt nothing and for once in her life she wished that she could feel something other than an empty void of nothingness. It was all over. It is all over. She repeated those words in her head over and over again and each time she did she felt herself slipping more and more. Looking down at the gash on her side, that she was clutching with her right hand, Catalina bit her lip to hold back the bile that was pushing up her throat at the sight of her blood. This was the first time that she had seen it. Sure, she had seen blood before, because she had killed before, but never -- never -- had she see her own blood.

She chuckled but regretted it when an immense pain shot throughout her abdomen. Her legs were starting to go numb and she wished that he would just finish her off. But he didn't. Instead, he stood around and waited. He was waiting for someone to show up, someone that Catalina was sure would show. 'Don't be stupid,' she thought. She wanted to say the words aloud but she couldn't. She wanted to tell him so badly not to show but she knew that he would never get the message. No, he wouldn't get the warning she was trying to send until it was too late. And even if she was able to send off those words she wanted to tell him so badly, she was sure that he would not have listened. He and his friends were just that stubborn.

"You're pathetic," he murmured.

Her green eyes traveled towards the ice cold orbs that were starting dead at her. She had betrayed him. She could see the hurt and anger mixed in his eyes -- intertwined into one emotion that was more deadly combined than it was apart. He was upset; he had every right to be. She smiled before clutching her wound tighter. It was just a matter of waiting now.

Soon it will all be over.
