"Last night, I had a dream..." Maureen started. It was 5 PM and she was standing in the middle of the lot, practicing her protest. She was facing the street and kept getting distracted by all the people who kept walking by and staring at her. Trying to regain her focus, she started again. "Last night, I had a – oh my God! Collins!" She exclaimed as she saw her ex-roommate walk by. She hadn't seen him in months, not since after April died.
He looked over and saw her standing there. "Maureen!" He ran into the lot, smiling widely. "I haven't seen you in forever!" He hugged her tightly. "So, I hear you're having a protest tonight."
"Yeah, but who cares? You're home!"
"I know. MIT didn't exactly work out… but I got a job at NYU."
"That's so great!" She smiled.
"How's Mark? And Roger? I was on my way over to the loft." Maureen looked down at her feet and bit her lip. "Oh man, don't tell me you two broke up."
"Well, um, yeah."
"Damn! What happened?"
She shrugged. "It wasn't really working out, I guess. I found someone new."
"Who?"
"Her name is Joanne."
"Like a girl?" She giggled and nodded. "That's cool."
