Kurt walked into the room; it was warm and had machines on either side. Blaine lifted his head up from the pillow at the sound of the door.
"Hey."
Blaine said warily. Kurt smiled half heartedly, tears filling his eyes.
"Come here."
Blaine motioned with his fingers. Kurt ran over to the bed crying, lying down beside Blaine. He wrapped his arms around Blaine sobbing into his shoulder. Blaine put his hand on Kurt's head.
"It's okay."
He said feeling the lump in his throat get bigger. Kurt turned his head, breathing into Blaine's neck.
"No it's not."
He cried. Blaine felt tears run down his cheeks; with a strong smile on his face he began.
We'll do it all We don't need
Everything
On our own
Anything
Or anyone
Blaine wrapped his arm around Kurt's waist securing him close. He breathed deeply and continued.
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Kurt glanced up at Blaine smiling sadly; Blaine reached up wiped a tear away from Kurt's face.
I don't quite know Those three words
How to say
How I feel
Are said too much
They're not enough
Blaine felt a sharp pain go straight through his heart, as if someone had stabbed him in the chest. If I lay here Forget what we're told Let's waste time
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Chasing cars
Around our heads
Kurt could feel time passing by fast, so he held Blaine even closer.
I need your grace If I lay here Forget what we're told
To remind me
To find my own
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Blaine sighed, looking down at the beautiful boy in his arms. Why was life so unfair to him? He wondered.
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see
Blaine took one last deep breath, Kurt grabbed his hand; holding it against his chest.
I don't know where If I lay here
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Blaine rested his back against the pillow, closing his eyes. Kurt felt Blaine go completely silent; He lifted his head, looking at Blaine's lifeless face. His eyes overfilled with tears, he got up from the bed pressing the button to signal for the nurse. He instantly fell to the ground, bringing his knees up to his chest as he sobbed.
His whole world had come crashing down all in that last moment; nothing, absolutely nothing would be the same. He saw nothing but darkness in his future.
The nurse ran into the room, Burt was right behind her. He leaned down hugging Kurt tightly and bringing him to his feet.
"Come on, it's time now for us to go."
Kurt buried his face into his father's chest. Burt held him tightly.
"This isn't fair."
He whispered to him.
"I know son, I know."
