If there was one thing that Sialis Norn Lambert knew for certain, it was that Merula Snyde was a troubled child.

That wasn't to say that he knew all of the intricacies of her past and struggles in life, but he had seen a great deal of children who acted in the same way as her who had troubles, usually in their home life.

One of Sialis' friends growing up, a young boy that he called Matt, had an abusive mother and a father that had walked out on them both. Matt had been a proclaimed problem child, and constantly was causing trouble for adults and other students at the academy.

It was a good thing that Sialis' family had power, as His father, Robin Freyr Lambert, was a kind man, but one also filled with justice in his heart. Once Robin had found out that his friend had a horrid living situation, he had called the police about it, and Matt had been swiftly placed in foster care and subsequently adopted by a friend of the family.

It was not necessarily the best of situations, but Matt was happy now, and had grown into a strapping lad.

Sialis, being the heir to the Lambert name, was expected a certain level of decorum, and that didn't exclude him from his magical duties. Being a 19th generation pureblood, most british wizards had met him a few years before his attendance at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and it was such that Sialis had met Merula's parents, the Snydes.

The Snydes, Chrysaetos and Eloise, were cordial enough, and in fact would have been horribly pleasant people had Sialis not known that they supported Voldemort in the war, which was ended prematurely by the Boy-Who-Lived: Harry James Potter.

It hadn't been long before they had been put on trial and sent to Azkaban, and poor Merula was sent to an orphanage.

It had only been a pity that Sialis had not known before he had gone to Hogwarts, else he might have implored his parents to take her in.

After all, she was his betrothed.

Arranged marriages were not unknown in the pureblood community, especially since they tended to ensure that the blood was untainted by halfbloods and muggleborns.

Not that Sialis cared much for any of that, seeing as how his parents were french. The french magical system didn't nearly have as much internalized racism against the muggles and muggleborns.

They had gotten rid of that prejudice back in the early 50's, after the occurances of the Vichy Regime openly condemning Jews. On the magical side, the head of the Bureau de la Justice Magique, a woman by the name of Zoe Durand, recognized the internalized racism in france and passed a law that put a stop to it.

I was getting off topic, my apologies. My point was that young Sialis had yet to encounter his story, and that he was a kind young man of good standing.

This is the story of Sialis Norn Lambert, a prestigious pureblood of french origins, who would become famous for being a key instrument in the second war against Voldemort, and would be better known as the man who brought an end to pureblood supremacy in magical Britain.

Let us begin.

What's up my followers, it's been a while since any of you have read my stories. Well, that's technically incorrect, as i just posted a new story called Dangerously-Pertemis. For you newcomers, welcome! This is the prologue to my new story, which will be centered around the budding romance between Sialis and Merula, as you may have guessed. Sialis will not take the place of Jacob's brother, as he will also be a character in the story. Let me know if any of you want to name Jacob's character or choose which house he will be in. If Nobody reviews, I will default to Ravenclaw, which will be the house of Sialis. Have a good day, and may the stars watch over you.
