I was browsing through the favorite authors of one of my favorite authors, YarningChick, when if found fairyMei33 and her various challenges. As I perused them, i found this one sparked my interest immediately, I'm not sure why, but it did.

I used this website for color meanings, take a look at it and delve deeper in this story if you so choose.

So here, enjoy this spontaneous one shot.

I don't own Harry Potter

Sight

Ever since I can remember, I had glasses. Sometimes they were big, sometimes they were small, and sometimes they were misshapen and sometimes pristine. However, they were always thick, and they always blurred colors for me, made them duller and more plentiful in one spot.

What little I remember of my mother was pink, a deep rosy color that changed shade with her features. As I grew, the color gained a new name, magenta. After I got glasses, she was white and red and green, the colors everyone told me about. No longer was she the woman I knew, but she was at the same time, it was so confusing to me as a child.

My father, the man many people compared me too, was a vivid orange slashed with red. His bright colors are some of the only things I remember about him, and I hope I am as bright as he.

I've met so many people in so many colors. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple turquoise, pink, magenta, brown, gray, silver black, white. They all, existed around me, and I assumed that everyone knew of their colors, their beauty.

But a I grew, I realized that the colors were painted on the backs of your person, where you couldn't see. No one looked at their own backs for the colors, but at others. They grew envious while thinking they weren't good enough, that they surely didn't have beautiful colors such as these, but turn them around and they had their own mosaic of life.

I asked my friends one time what they thought of the colors, and they didn't understand. Why didn't they see? I never asked again.

I only hope that if there is someone out there like me, I have a mosaic of beauty on me, and that my colors are as bright as those that I have seen.

All I can see is color, and no one sees this color but me.

Very spontaneous, not really sure what to make of it myself. Hope you enjoyed!
