A Family Affair
Author's Note: I've realized how little fanfic there is in the fandom, so I thought I should contribute. I hope this doesn't suck. The original idea comes from a fic by theswearingkind on Livejournal, but the execution is my own. I'd also like to mention a friend of mine- you know who you are, and you will write Barefic…..eventually.
Disclaimer: I don't own Bare.

Thirty minutes. He was late for church by that much. The evening mass was already mostly over. Tempting though it may have been to leave, he had to talk to Jason and couldn't afford for his lover to be distracted by the likes of Ivy.
So here he was, in the freezing cold, stalking out the entrance to the school church. All because of Jason. It was also due to him that he was late- Peter hadn't accounted for falling asleep in the middle of the day last night while he and Jason were……ehem.
Peter sighed, leaning on the wall of the building, checking his watch for the umpteenth time. He could feel the faint crunch of approaching footsteps in the winter snow- realizing with some panic, that someone was walking directly towards him. Hoping that the sound of the stranger's footsteps would mask his own, Peter swiftly turned and hid behind the side of the church. Crouching down on a bit of thawed ground, he was suddenly aware of the absurdity of the situation.
Why was he hiding from this person, whoever they were? Wasn't it bad enough that he was waiting for Jason in such a state? Since when did he go to church, anyway? Making a mental note to ask Jason that when he came out, Peter steeled all his courage, stood up, turned around, and took a look at the stranger.
It was a man. An….extremely attractive man. A man who clearly hadn't heard or seen anything that Peter was doing because his cell phone had rung at the precise moment that he had turned around. Thankful for the distraction, the teenager took this as an opportunity to observe the man more closely. Short, blonde hair, muscular build- and were those blue eyes? This stranger was also impeccably dressed- black coat, dress pants, leather shoes. Peter was starting to get very hot under the collar.
This man was gorgeous. With his smooth, flawless skin- Tearing his eyes away, Peter searched for something, anything, to distract himself and banish the feelings of arousal he felt. Looking at his watch once more, he saw that there was only five more minutes before mass ended and he could get Jason.
Jason. He had completely forgotten about him. What would he think if he knew that Peter had been ogling an unknown man while he wasn't around? The youth didn't have time to finish his train of thought, as at that moment the doors to the church burst open and dozens of students filed out. Peter saw his chance. He walked casually among the throng of students, scanning the crowd for Jason. He saw him. And he was talking to the man.
Suddenly, something in Peter's head clicked. The man he had been watching was Jason's father. He watched in horror as Nadia came over to them, confirming his suspicions. How could he have not seen the resemblance? Peter ducked his head down and started to walk faster, trying to avoid being seen by the group.
And he would have succeeded, if not for Nadia's keen eye. She yelled out his name, motioned Peter towards them and Peter, seeing no way to avoid confrontation, obeyed. Soon he was shaking the hand of Jason's father, disoriented.
He doesn't register much else, and before he knows it, he and Jason are walking back to their dorm. The second the door closes behind them Jason launches full force into a rant about his father and Peter knows that he is incredibly, and utterly, screwed.
