Something New
A/N: I got bored and started thinking about Prohibited again, so a small fluff, prose scene cause I'm a sap.
Moving in with Shadow was new, sharing a bed with him wasn't new but their proximity was. Then again, the only reason Sandy had moved in with him was because her landlord evicted her for bootlegging in the apartment. It wasn't her fault a few customers figured out where she lived.
Being business partners was new and they tried to lighten Georgette's load until she either kicked them out or insisted they get out of the office. Being dance partners wasn't new, but they did develop a different kind of flair.
Of course, Sandy had to find somewhere for Momma to stay and thankfully it wasn't hard, she adapted nicely to the small forest Sandy had found and eased some of her worries. Rune bursting into the room and barking until someone let him out was. . .new but a pain. He could let himself out.
Kissing was entirely new, and something Sandy had to get used to once she learned just how affectionate Shadow could be. Some were brief, warm, soft, hot, or long. Others were barely there, toeing, testing an edge Sandy wasn't sure she was ready to plunge head first into. Not yet.
Not while she still laid awake most nights wondering if this was all fake and they would go back to being rivals. Not while they both jerked awake in the middle of the night to the imaginary sound of a gun being drawn. Not while she thought Von Barke wasn't dead even though Shadow had buried the man himself and they only visited once.
Everything was new and a bit frightful, but Sandy would be okay. She was made of stronger things and nothing would break her.
